Indian Air Force: News & Discussions (10 Viewers)

BrahMos-2 hypersonic cruise missile costs around $12.5 million per unit, suitable for high-value targets like enemy airbases, warships, or air defense systems, it’s not cost-effective for destroying rag tag militias. What India needs is the GHATAK UCAV, which can conduct precision bombing missions against militant infrastructure in Pakistan—similar to how U.S. has effectively used Predator drones to eliminate militant targets in the region.

Also, GHATAK UCAV is powered by indigenously developed Kaveri engine, which eliminates any concerns about American sanctions or foreign dependencies for these unmanned combat aircraft.
R we making brahmos 2 ??? i dont think we r going for that project, coz we r developing our own hypersonic missile (vishnu). so two costly missile program dont make sense. we can buy zircon in some number, if our hypersonic missile take more time.
we also dont know about brahmos NG program update. which is very important program. it will give us flexibility to equip two brahmos ng in our tejas mark 1a. that will gave our tejas mark 1a capability to attack ground targets from secure distance (300 km). su 30 mki will also equip 3-5 brahmos ng. this brahmos NG is better cheaper option than regular brahmos, to attack terrorist hideout in pakistan. coz regular brahmos is overkill to attack terrorist hideout in pakistan.
we can also add much cheaper subsonic desi ITCM or nirbhay missiles to saturate enemy SAM system. hope we also make ITCM air launched nd mini version like brahmos ng.
beside this we hv many cheaper convintional ballistic missiles also. like prithvi (1,2,3), shaurya, prahaar nd pralay. which is cheaper option than current brahmos.

If this news is true, then we have a favorable situation on our hands.

If Dassault goes solo in their FCAS program, then they will look for more opportunity to export Rafales. 6th generation fighter project will cost lot of money, give or take minimum 30 billion Euros just for research nd development. Dassault will scrape every penny possible through Rafale sales. Whether the recent developments of them exporting fuselage production to TASL and Falcon private jet production to Reliance aerostructures has anything to do with expecting more orders is anyone's guess.

Dassault will definitely look for more orders and likely for joint development of Jet Engines for our 5th generation program. Let us see whether they break with Germans to go solo. Rafale was also born out of the same disagreements. We can't rule out the same happening again.

Arre Froggies ka roz ka hai, they did Sem2sem with the Eurofighter program, which is why you have the Rafale.

Basically they cannot into cooperation or collaboration, French AF/Navy requirements are patthar ki lakheer which they don't compromise with, and they pull this after getting the fruits of collaborative R&D and expense sharing of course :troll:

If we become a ((( partner ))) they will be sem2sem with us, won't agree to add in our requirements to the project, won't share the good shit technology but entitledly ask us to pay up 50% of the project cost.

If it's only for engines like you say then it is ok but they will try to scam us like that also.

However good catch, this explains why they are dangling so many carrots in front of us to score a Rafale contract.

The babooze concerned should drive our advantage and have these snail-enjoyers integrate all 3 Astra missiles and 3 rudra missiles for a specific cost mentioned on the contract onleee
