But russia is trying really hard to bag mrfa too.

Is this gossip you've heard or just a personal theory.

Israeli style F35 would be best for us but I don't think they'd give it to us.

Israel is of course "special" to get such treatment from the US, no other country has got such a setup, not even UK and Italy who were project partners from the get go

Israeli F-35s can have Israeli radar, EW subsystems, software added to them they can use Israeli missiles etc.
MRO is also controlled by Israelis.

This is only because the Zionist lobby has immense clout in US.

UK, Australia, Japan, Italy nobody else has this level of freedom with their F-35s.

One way is this is possible is we're using the Israelis and their Zionist lobby as a middleman mediator country to do this.

In my assessment, this is the best case scenario for IAF.

Very unlikely IMO. LM will not setup a Engine and Avionics MRO for a small order. India will be forced to use South Korean facility. IAF will have to change the inventory of already confusing AAM arsenal. R77, R37,R73, MICA,METEOR,ASTRA,ASRAAM,DERBY,PYTHON and then to AIM9 and AIM120. What a nightmare.
Also Navigation and Communications need to be replaced. I mean export version of avionics, data buses, flight control processors all gonna be downgraded ones add to that downgraded version of AAM.

Politics and business aside if given a strategic choice what one would prefer - Exceptional Machine with restrictions to only utilize 50 percent of potential or a Inferior Machine with chances of utilizing 90 percent or even more of potential. Only if Air Force feels that even 50 percent of potential is far better than what other offer is on table then yes F35 might be procured on G2G deals.

Navy saw no problems in export version of P8 and Mh60. Airforce went ahead with Apache & Longbow radar even if downgraded export versions.

Still IMO, IAF is unlikely to go with F-35

Apart from that our defence spending has reduced to 1.85% of GDP due to the subhuman opposition that promises freebies and forces the centre to do so as well for elections. Although not happening, if it happens, our defence budget in 2030 will touch $170 billion. Again, not happening.

IAF needs a lot of CAPEX to get back to normal, let alone assist the sister services, especially Naval Aviation with AEW&CS and Refuellers.

Both have a different role, you cannot send a su30 mki loadout with 20m2 rcs in bvr combat, it will get grilled to ashes.

Mrfa is necessary as mwf got delayed till 2031 production timeline. Amca mk1 till dont know when, maybe 2032 or 33 and mk2 till 35 36. Mrfa will be omni role, from air superiority to interception to ground attack. It should do everything, the og trials when happened, rafale and yourofighter cyclone were the end contender and on l1 basis rafale won. So no need to do another set of trials which will have same result, just negotiate hard in gujjew way and get those additional 2-3 sq of rafale. And then give belt treatment to hal so that atleast mwf mk2 comes by 2030 atleast
