These protests need to dealt with iron hand if state govt wants to hv industry

Nice article giving a summary of goings on regarding this controversy

TLDR is this (((CITU))) is backed by CPI which is an (((ally))) of the DMK govt along with CPI(M), this is why Stalin is a beech and isn't applying the stick.

Shri @crazywithmath was also correct that these (((CITU))) cumrades are imported and not workers from the Samsung factory, like how Lenin was sent like a pathogen in a "sealed train" from Germany to St.Petersburg to infect Russia with the disease of Cummunism

That’s an interesting take. Thoughts?
I follow this account and he seems to be a reflection of DFI on most issues.

Given the extreme cost of HSR, slowness in construction, security challenges, red tape (land acquisition etc) wouldn’t it make sense?

States piling on massive debt seems to be the biggest red flag given how easily it can spiral out of control when Congis take over.

I am also in support of prioritizing UDAAN.
Maybe HSR can just be added for short high frequency routes, one more each for other regions maybe. For example in south it can be BLR-HYD

While I do agree that we should not blindly build HSR, and wait to see Mumbai Ahmedabad success, before moving to next project, there are some issues in his suggestions.

1. Airports will always be 20-30 kms from city, and barring good metro connectivity to airports, it will take 1 hour just to get from airport to house, by road. Also, I don't see issues at airport getting solved by some mythical AI. It will still take 40mins-1 hours to checkin at bigger airport and again more time to collect baggage at destination if you have checked in luggage.

2. Semi high-speed trains cannot do much on existing lines. Most of the lines are not straight enough to run trains higher than 130kmph, so. even upgrading tracks and signals will not work. On top of that, skipping rail stations also sometimes require trains to slow down and dependant on availability of empty platforms. Plus running different speed trains on same tracks at same time, is already a headache.

3. An alternative is building bullet train like dedicated tracks for for semi high speed (200 kmph), I am not sure how much money this will save, but if its substantial, we should definitely think about this.

4. Comparing India to US is dumb. US population density is too low.

Trains are the most efficient transport in the world.
Entering an Station is simpler than airports scans and security.
Trains can operate on the middle of city.
You can carry weights without any penalty.
Airplanes are worst polluters.

If you want HSR construction. Then large scale planning is required for viable routes.
