Indian Economy

That is remarkable, it would be interesting to hear of the experiences of non Indians in Bihar. With respect to travel, accommodation, amenities, facilities, behavior of the local population etc.
Watch Curly Tales featuring Elli AvrRam, a Swiss actress, she explored various towns, villages, and cities in Bihar.

GDP measures value addition of goods and services in a particular economy, it is not a measure of prosperity or networth of the economy.

real GDP is calculated at 2011-12 base price for India.
nominal GDP is calculated at current market prices.

ideally real GDP growth rate + inflation = nominal GDP growth rate.

but since our baseline prices are literally 14 years old, real GDP and nominal GDP does not sync anymore. we have to wait for base prices to be rebased nearer to current fiscal year.

PPP is calculated by global multilateral banks IMF and WB, not sure what do you mean by clubbing real and PPP GDP. they calculate PPP based on a comparitive prices of a basket of listed goods across the world like burgers etc.

nominal is sidelined, because of it is inclusive of inflation numbers which does not give actual growth in value addition. for example, for many years during UPA nominal growth numbers were high but inflation was also high, which means value of goods is being hiked because of inflation, which hides the real value addition. so real GDP numbers are preferred over nominal.
oh thanks that was pretty well explained.

The Israeli lady speaks Hindi virtually like an Indian would, with accent and intonation, pronunciation.

There was something my college prof was said like few months back, that you would see people complaining about having to keep maid on social media, the thing is a vacuum cleaner is quite effective for most 2bhk houses, but if you discuss it with people they will treat it as some sort of expensive purchase. Most vaccum cleaner that are good enough cost like 5-10k rs at best. I am someone with dust allergies and vacuum has been fucking godsent for me and I had to convince my parents to get one cause they thought same thing that vaccum are a waste.

There was some comments back in reddit years ago that said that Indians are actually just incapable of good and efficient planning outside very few, which as I get older, realise to be plain facts. And scarcity mentality is not just there in tech sector it's everywhere, our film makers are get a single decent story to theatres, it's same variant of 5 type of movies.

One thing we have to accept that, years of socialist brainwashing and cultural programming has basically made a large part of our awaam hate efficiency. Adani is closest thing we have to a actually somewhat forward thinking billionaire who is constantly trying to dip his toes into different industries instead of sitting on his ass after success in one sector. Examples are endless and it will frustrate any indian who actually wants this country go somewhere.

So true. When I brought the concept of leaf blowers and pressure washing machines and other tools that would greatly aid in cleaning up the streets of India and reduce trash, I was told it was unrealistic because labor is so cheap. But they couldn't think of the productivity efficiency gains and etc. You could capture more business with less people by being more efficient etc.
