Indian Navy Developments & Discussions

Can anyone explain how can a fire on hull sink the ship is that possible?also the safety protocols surely there are way to stop a fire where they are working.

Apparently INS Betwa(same Brahmaputra class) also flipped over at the graving dock in 2015.

Might be something to look into, although I doubt anything substantial will be correlated as that was a dry dock.

@Binayak95 bhaiya anything suspicious or a fire is that lethal for a ship?(I am not very familiar with ships) will a equiry be called?

Speaking as a google-er, but it might be that the antiroll tanks ruptured due to the fire, and while trying to douse out that fire, they pumped enough water to actually destabilize the ship.

@Binayak95 bhaiya we need a navy professional here cause all of this is going from top of my head.

Indian military cant seem to go 1 week without embarrassing itself somehow. Pathetic. Not the first time such an accident happened in drydock. There was a big string of such accidents happening in the previous decade
I don't have any hope with our Indian workforce. There is simply no adherence to Discipline and Protocols anywhere, sab jugaad se chal raha hai!

Already size of military equipment arsenal is small, it is ageing rapidly, no signs of modernisation and expansion and then we have them crashing, sinking and flowing away in rivers regularly on top of terror attacks daily. One must question the competence of the military, this isn't normal.
