after oct 7th, israeli govt after noticing that there was a public campaign targeting them in american and european capitals, in response their govt mobilised a wave of public diplomacy, initially it was 21 public intellectuals mostly centered in western nations who went around countering the propaganda islamists and marxists had unleashed on the streets and college campuses, these public intellectuals went around addressing townhalls, think tanks and TV debates. this was during early stages of "from river to sea" being amplified on SM by neo-liberals, qataris, muslim brotherhood et al.
marxists and islamists were saying "Israel is occupational force, so they deserve to be attacked, killed, raped, abducted".
israel's point was "we have a right to live".
this is not so different from how indira gandhi travelled around the world rallying for support between march and dec 71.
the way israel handled this public diplomacy should be a lesson for us in this social media age, since the same thing will happen to India at some point in the future. we know for a fact that, is such a situation most of our discourse will be overwhelmed by talk about victim blaming, gormint failures, whining, sulking, and witch hunting. if and when we will be attacked, we too should have a plan in place for public diplomacy, to put forth our point of view i.e to reverse the trend.
