Nibbiar afaik it's the same bofors 40mm L70 gun, we make it under license here?
or do you mean the foreign electronics in " upgraded L70 " vs deshi electronics and software in sudarshan?
Afaik not much difference sudarshan is just more modular ciws with electronics with l70 gun meanwhile l70 upgrade is electronics upgrade

Sudarshan is autonomous radar guided upgrade to L70 vs plain Upgraded L70 has optronics added and someone still has to man L70

Basically L70 is really good but is older ww2 era design meanwhile sudarshan is more modular and modern
L 70 is air defence gun platform common in both. Sudarshan is more autonomous and is meant to be deployed in chains. My guess is one Sudarshan system can handle multiple autonomous L 70 - so that multiple designated targets can be engaged from same command center.

Now both systems man in loop and autonomous - have their advantages and disadvantages. With autonomous we are concentrating everything in one command center. If that gets taken out (as see in Hq 9) - you render all guns linked to it useless unless they get hooked to another command center vehicle.

Thanks for the detailed reply.
Sudarshan gun should be optionally manned imo to stop the gun from being useless without the command center giving direction.

Else each gun/truck must have autonomous tracking, no dependency on command center

L70 is videsi and Sudarshan is desi
Both are made in India

Y'all nibbiars, what are the benefits of L&T Sudarshan CIWS vs whatever current "upgraded L70" guns we have and were used in doing drone genocide?

Absolute basic difference is the sudarshan is truck mounted while L70 is static?
Sudarshan has AHEAD ammo equivalent. Google Oerlikon MANTIS. Sudarshan is that, but instead of the 200 tungsten pellets per round, it has 1000 tungsten pellets (approx. from top of my head, don't remember exact values, also Sudarshan round figures i think I read in some DRDO TechFocus magazine).
Basically it programs the round airburst timing fuze right as the round is about to exit the muzzle. Insanely more accurate against a drone.

Apparently VEM Technologies showcasting few cutting edge weapons during this Aero India and now.

Their own SA missiles = Ajitha
SR- 25KM
LR-75KM

Previously showcased the ATGM.

Now showcased an MANPADS.

They generally work with DRDO as Production partner. Looks like they are using the TOT and tweaking the system with their work.

But currently we could not find any Testing images or live version of the products. Only models I can see.

They are going to have two kind of missiles .

1st layer - unguided missile with fragments to take out area of 20meters of swarms .
2nd layer - guided missile for individual targets .

Additional layer of jammers and soft kill .

Will be based on movable platform and can operate over 5000m altitude .

Long Range Glide Bomb (LRGB)

The Long-Range Glide Bomb (LRGB) is designed to extend the range of the Mk 80 series warheads, offering enhanced operational flexibility. It is an All-Up Round (AUR) capable of accommodating warheads ranging from Mk 81 to Mk 84. When released from an altitude of 12 km at 0.85 Mach, the LRGB is expected to achieve a range of 120+ km. Additionally, the range can be optimized to meet specific customer requirements. The system can be integrated with terminal seekers such as Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) or Passive Homing Head (PHH) to enhance accuracy, achieving the desired Circular Error Probable (CEP). Furthermore, it can be equipped with a jamming-resistant GPS, ensuring effective operation in GPS-denied environments.
