Indian Private Defence Sector

Brahmashira Astra Bharat Private Limited

Can someone please go through this site. It feels like the case of another "Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured" going on here

Was too tired to go through all of the offerings so just went with one and this is the result on the first sample only

Turns out to be from a Turkish firm

🤷‍♂️

whenever an indian company claims to make something in India/'indigenously', google the company's factory details, if it even exists. you can easily strike off 90% of these startups these way

Ya'll Ashok Leyland 600 HP engine.

Isn't that a DRDO engine and Ashok Leyland is only a development partner for production and smoothing out the rough edges? Or they came up with another engine of their own?

Ya'll Nibbiars Ashok Leyland is technical partner and not just TOT applicant, DRDO dont have facilities to test or all the capabilities to develope engine on it's own without external support, Leyland played a important role also in the development.

Are they collaborating on the 1000hp and 1500hp engines as well?

Improper language people might get offended.
People who get offended by the truth which is usually bitter, would do better to stay away from this here forum !

Import Army will take another 20 years to Buy indian products..
Among all the noise of hypersonic this and glide vehicle that, let's not forget the pioneer; the point from where everything started.
He walked, so that DRDO could run

Any chance that they will actually make it? Seems highly unlinkly for a start up to successfully make it.
Are they supported by drdo?

SMPP is proposing a large facility in Solan for munition manufacturing. They are wanting to raise 4000 crores in their IPO. They are eventually planning to move into raw material manufacturing for these munitions. They signed a 3000 crore MOU with HP state govt a few years back. I wrote it off as a fake MOU (as their annual revenue is 10x lower), but looks like some aspects of it is becoming a reality.

We can soon add another 250k annual 155mm shell production

Off topic, but why the f*ck are these dumbfks building these facilities that close to our 2 enemies? There are much better locations for these facilities to come up.

where is the proof that this amounted to anything? The company seems like an outright scam
Arrrree it was a sarcastic post

Most probably not

Hypersonic glide vehicle is not something that anyone can just come out of nowhere and proclaim some day that they would be making one and that too in record time. Not to mention the fact that there's absolutely no record to show that the people or the company were actually making anything prior to this. Neither anything to show that some other big firm or University laboratory is in collaboration.

Can HAL make a HGV? Obviously
Can Mahindra & Mahindra make a HGV? It'd be extremely tough but yup
Can Sharma Welding Shop (humari aur koi shakha nahi hai, nakkalon se sawdhan) make a HGV? Almost impossible but there's a nonzero chance
Can a firm that exist just on paper make one? Are you kidding me

Just the carbon-carbon composite for the heat shield requires years to perfect.

> There are already many players that are planning to set up ammunition production facility here in India. The window for new ammo producer is almost closed now.

> We've huge requirements for ammo during war but that doesn't mean we're going to buy them during peace. We already knew about the lack of arctic gear but did we bother buying them until Doklam happened?

> Just like any semi-socialist/capitalist country (even the muh Democracy Murica) things happen here in sinusoidal waves; "no war, money goes to ladli bhabhi yojna. Yes war, we scramble our a**es off to get weapons". No political party can afford sustaining the required WWR level without the usual drama if war is not imminent.

> No doubt world market is in short supply now because of Israel but at some point this demand will trough too. An by then factories in USA, Sweden, Germany and South Korea would be operating at their peak (already established mega factories like Nammo are supposed to scale up way faster then a firm that makes bulletproof jackets). So after war ends there would excess supply and prices would drop. How exactly are they going to compete with economies of scale when they've recently sunk this huge amount in CapEx?

What the world currently need are cheap, small scale, distributed, ultra automated ammo manufacturing facilities that can be left dormant for years and then can be started with just a couple of people as soon a conflict happens.

God knows what their thought process is behind this
