It seems like most of the offerings in TATA's Rajak line-up, especially their I² Tubes are from a Greek firm by the name Theon International

Man! Now I'm even more intrigued to find out the source of Tonbo's I²

Well initially I was just going through multiple offerings of all the I² manufacturers I knew to find whether TATA's designs were in-house or inspired by someone. Then stumbled across "Theon Optics" to notice how eerily similiar they looked.

Seems to me the MoD still hasn't developed a robust vendor whetting & gradation process in their supply chain management assuming they've something like that or have even heard of the term filled as they are with babooos selected for clearing UPSC exams on medivael history.

Ditto for the armed forces who were prohibited from developing such capacities except technical aspects which in any case is part of their duties.

Plus the former will never involve the latter in anything close to the final decision making process except to get technical inputs. We're talking about a classic case of silos where right hand doesn't know what the left is doing & nobody wants to let go of their powers.

I suppose aspects like not having a multiplicity of vendors , uniformity of equipment across forces , future joint procurement & maintenance , etc are next gen concepts.

Our transition into atma nirbharta will much more painful than previously thought.
