arts babus should not be alloted tech related ministries, heck dont allow arts guys in irts and other indian railway services, heck why do we have services in indian railway

make it a corporate sort of, bring toxic work culture for present babus, make them managers and force them to do work, then their corruption and slacking attitude will go away

Apparently Rail Babus came with a Redesigned Front section for an WAP 7.

This is how it looks.

This rises the question of babus taste in so called Designs. Why can't they build an body looks similar to siemens , Stadler Locos. The above one looks like WAP 7 got bee stinged.

Even an Chinese locomotive looks good which his simple straight and angular lines which looks good on them.

Even the twin WAP 5 for amrit bharat is look like this.

While across the world Push Pull designs were like this.

Alstom one. Based on TGV Duplex which is an Push Pull train.

Or the chinese DJJ2 which is also an Push pull train.

The poor manufacturing standard is clearly visible at everything Rail factories manufacturing. VB with loose fitting. LHB Coaches which looks like pure shit and jerks like anything else due to coupling. Also the cleaning and maintenance is 50s era one. Folks clearly uses hand tools to tighten things when you can use proper tools which can tighten screws on factory fit.

Can someone tell me what was wrong with the WAG-9HH, that we're paying Siemens for a similar class loco.1748345521323.webp

siemens just handed over a dabba, agreed 11cr per loco hai, but still 0 design, just took our ld wcam design, took steel and painted it to appease leaderji

mf use aluminium, give us finesse and new paint scheme and liveries, literally sheds are doing better livery work now than as compared to CLW, BLW, PLW, BHEL etc and now siemens, mf even alstom and ge gave us somewhat good livery

arts babus have no technical knowledge and 0 aesthatic sense

i demand our head mod @haldilal to dismiss the railway board and give us aluminium vande bharat asap

Ya'll Nibbiars you must be familiar how the siemens got the contracts for the EMU's, MEU's, locomotive engineers, by bribing many officials in the Railways.

I also don't know, maybe it's for export as Railway minister mentioned Siemens one will be exported.

This is quite perplexing why WAG was not chosen, someone is definitely telling lie about WAG performance.

Or, maybe Moon trials is not limited to only Armed forces, here too it happen.

see, the locomotive horsepower is gonna be the same for decades, but that doesnt give a solid backing that can we use a 1970 level loco in 2020 era? although wag is 1970 era but similiar electric locos were produced in many countries, so why did they start making new locos? they had similiar hp locos
its not just horsepower but many things improve, loco health monitoring, modular systems, longer run without any major maintenance, much much efficient systems, etc etc
our proff said that current locos at CLW dont use much semiconductor backed systems, and its architecture was pretty old, any new modern day upgrade along with maintenance would be an issue in older locos; and the energy efficiency of older locos like wap 4 is questionable, same for older freight loco for pre wag 9 era
thats why wag 12 was inducted and not twin wag 9

Rail babus are inducted through ESE (engineering services examination).

The only thing rail baboos can do is build extremely cheap, substandard products. Since lowering cost is their primary objective, nobody pays attention to the design.

VB chair car is ugly but look how aesthetic the VB sleeper is. That's because it's built by a proper firm that was paid to build the train (BEML).

Amrit Bharat is designed for MPS of 130 kmph and average speed of 50-60 kmph. You don't need aerodynamic design for such low speed.

The traction control system and power system are modern and superior to the 1990s ABB designed WAG9.

Of course, we could've improved the product iteratively. Maybe the baboons fked up and kept delaying (like they always do), who knows.

It's a freight locomotive. Freight locomotives will always be a dabba. With a good livery this loco will look better.

guys with a very happy heart i would like to inform that mumbai amdavad has been 160 kmph fied, project raftaar completed in that stretch now

lets hope withing a couple of years we have vande bharat sleeper cruising smoothly at 160 throughout mumbai delhi route with tejas rajdhanis

and as one liners are not allowed, let me include 2 more q which are small

1) will the cancelled aluminium vande bharat tender again come out or is it a permanent tata bye bye for aluminium dreams
2) any update on tilting vande bharat???

Does anyone have the performance specifications/brochure of the new WAG-D9 locomotive by Siemens?

I could find only the press release from Siemens :

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi flags off first of the new D9 – 9000 HP electric locomotive

• One of the most powerful freight locomotives in the world
• Approximately 90% of the technologies in the locomotives are made in India
• 800 million tons of CO2 emissions to be saved over lifecycle
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi flagged off first of the new D9 – 9000 HP electric locomotives at Indian Railways’ factory in Dahod, Gujarat. Following the award to Siemens for the design, engineering, manufacturing and maintenance of 1,200 locomotives of 9000 horsepower (HP) electric locomotives, Siemens’ factories in Nashik, Aurangabad and Mumbai have been manufacturing critical components for this project, with final assembly, testing and commissioning performed at the Indian Railways’ factory in Dahod. The state-of-the-art Dahod facility, constructed in a record time of less than two years, incorporates cutting-edge features including Virtual Reality-based (VR) safety training, a locomotive simulator and loco-shunters for efficient carriage movement.
Sunil Mathur, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Limited, said, “Siemens Limited takes pride in partnering with Indian Railways in this prestigious project. Together with the Indian Railways, we have been able to construct a world-class factory and approximately 90% of the technologies are made in India for the 9000 HP electric locomotive. The introduction of these advanced locomotives is crucial to realizing the Government of India's aspiration to elevate railway's share in freight movement from 27% to around 45%. This is a commendable achievement for both Indian Railways and Siemens, and I congratulate and thank all the stakeholders who have enabled this significant milestone. We are delighted and honored that the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi flagged off the first electric locomotive manufactured in this world-class factory.”
Each of the 1,200 locomotives of 9000 HP has a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The locomotives, which have a haulage capacity of 5800 tons, are designed to transport freight efficiently across India's vast rail network.
Siemens will also perform the maintenance for the entire lifespan of 35 years for these locomotives. The locomotives are equipped with Siemens’ Railigent X platform for predictive maintenance, ensuring highest availability and performance. The advanced digital tracking systems, the Kavach safety system, and green propulsion technology, make these locomotives a beacon of modern rail transport.
