Indian Small Arms and Weapons

Some mfs still support them blindly what can you do and whoever tries to criticise them ,they just silence them
Why target army in selecting things that are forced on them due to geopolitics and diplomacy while i agree they too have their portion of blame. The procurement processes majorly controlled by bureaucrats. Rather you must ask questions to MoD why they haven't shortlisted SSS defence for mega carbine tender and rejected them not on the performance of the gun but due to some so called technical condition. Vivek Krishnan recently revealed this in one of his interviews

Sorry, if my question seem to hurt...but end of the day atleast a single person should be there to play the devil's advocate.

Everyone is tagging PM and MoD and what not on Twitter and asking to cancel SIG deal and buy SSS. But in this all "Why SIG, Why not SSS" thing going on everywhere, has anyone ever seen even a picture of the said rifle SSS has offered let alone a video of it at firing range!?

Great...and which one of the these rifles is the said competitor of SIG Sauer 716i!?
P72 DMR
Also seem like you are looking at the wrong way the problem is NOT SSSD getting orders it is that according to the owner the weapons are not being tested ,they just get rejected under technical analysis stage and no one knows what it is.

@KAB7777 bhaiya can you ask SSSD for video or picture of the rifle they are pitching against SIG 716i like in that 7.62x51mm category?

My brother in Pashupati...that thing is clearly chambered in 7.62x39mm...not 7.62x51mm.
And God bless us if that AK based thing gets chambered in full powered cartridge.

And why everyone is missing the point that end of day he's just a salesman who wants the customer to buy his product instead of the competitors!? He's not CAG who is going to disclose each and every fact without any bias.

There was a competition between Haenel and Heckler & Koch for the next Bundeswehr rifle...and suddenly the trials stopped. Later it was found that H&K had filed an IPR violation lawsuit against Haenel, which they ultimately won and Haenel was order by court to destroy every single of their rifles.
Did Haenel ever said that they had copied? So there are multiple things that can happen.

Also we talk so much about logistics of having two different cartridges here, but has anyone ever brought the logistics of 72k guns from one manufacturer and 72k from another!?

Show me a single GSQR where it was explicitly mentioned that the rifle should be "AK based".

Up until the very last trials Army had conducted everyone was invited there, from SCAR to Bren to Galil to Colt...so how come out of nowhere they mentioned this?

And if you're talking about AK-203 deal was more of a G-to-G deal because everything from visiting Rosoboronexport to setting up the plant in Amethi was happening at a much higher level.
And then again, if army wanted an AK based rifle they already had TAR.

Ok leave this deal I was always ready for more Sig orders it was Bound to happen I just wanna know on why did SSSD didn't even get to participate in 5.56 carbine tender forget about competition they were disqualified even before taking part and according to sources they are saying the reason isn't even related to weapon platform my problem is that only.

2,000 upgrade kit for INSAS 18Cr, so one kit comes down to:
90,000 rupees

72,400 SIG-716i for 647Cr, so one rifle comes down to:
89,364 rupees

The math's not mathing
