The math's not mathing

Nah. Let's say the package includes new polymer buttstock, pistol grip, P-MAGs, Top pic rail, Eotech Red dot and new bipods. This is easily $1000 or 82,000 INR. So not far off. And I haven't considered GST yet.

But the question is,is it really that important when we are already phasing it out?

Welp. If the guns are from a good batch and perform solidly, why not extend their service life. I'm not an advocate for mag fed suppressive fire, but buying a Negev and then kitting it out with a better bipod and red dot is a bit more expensive. And I guess they got a tight budget to play with. Plenty of 30 round INSAS mags to go around anyway. And troops don't need familiarization with the gun on the short run.

Extend a 5.56 when we chose 7.62x39/51mm as our standards for rifle and LMG?not the smartest decision tbh

90k per piece?!?!
Well I went through all the pains of actually doing the calculations...and yup, the price seems okay.

So there's no accessories for INSAS, but whatever fits an AK would more or less fit on an INSAS hence these are the offering from FAB Defence for AKs.

Stock $125
Grip $30
Grip-bipod $120
Top rail $250
Handguard $45
EOTech 512 $500
Mag $20 (if x4 per gun) $80
Total's $1,150 or 97,000 in rupees

Yes, you're absolutely right.
But now the question is where the hell is L1 bidding when you need it the most!?

Magpul Zhukov stock $110
Magpul AK grip $20
Strike Industries Bipod Grip $60 (side note; these are aluminium as opposed to FAB's polymer)
Dog Leg Top Rail $185 (Texas Weapon System is one of the OGs of AK dust cover top rails)
Magpul Handguard $40
Holosun 510c red dot $365
Magpul AK PMAG $16 (if x4 per gun) $64
Total's $844 or 71,000 in rupees

How do you convince someone to pay 25,000 more!?

We still make 5.56 ammo, for both military and law enforcement, plus export. Have supply contractors and huge stockpiles of the stuff. It's not going away anytime soon. Standardization is a bewildering concept to us.

Naa these guys did what now 😭 this is embarrassing for us as a country wtf why would you waste that much on Insas LMG same with Insas deal and it's again yahoodis eating well.

If we eliminate SIGs from the equation, might be worth using in a DMR role with units equipped with the vanilla insas, considering the uprated longer barrel the LMG's got

Don't ask me what's the logic behind it, we can only speculate

Importer = startup here.
These guys don't even make a bolt mfs probably drink imported water if the kits were any good I would have still been happy we were getting quality mods but it's Fab...

P.S- before anyone comes at me that if fab mods aren't good how come they have been with army for so long let's not kid ourselves guys not the first time army has stayed and continued with mediocracy we have seen it time and again they just love this yahoodi company for some reason love so deep that local companies instead of making better kits and Innovate had to fall back and design kits specifically so they could compete with fab kits.

The bureaucrat excuse again.
Why does bureaucrat beat up and gag Rajnath singh during procurement?
politcians know nothing about the ground reality . Just see how they hold the guns , you will know .
Its the job of these bureaucrats and Officials to tell him the reality . Which they do not .

They need to give such posts who actually know about this department .

@KAB7777 bhaiya can you ask SSSD for video or picture of the rifle they are pitching against SIG 716i like in that 7.62x51mm category?
The last time I asked him about their 7.62x51mm Battle Rifle he pointed in the direction of the P-72 family, but also mentioned that it wouldn’t be a challenge to make a variant of the M-72 family should the forces specify an AR Pattern in their requirements.

Is there a video of the DMR one shooting?
