Completely false equivalence.

IPKF was drawn in as a peace keeping force. Half of the units initially stationed there were doing golf tournaments in punjab during their peace tenure. They didn’t have heavy weaponry or were they expecting to be drawn into a long conflict.

By 88-89 better battalions we’re called in who had revised SOP, and the initial battalions also worked on their SOP,
they managed ti start eliminating ltte kinetic leadership on the low levels. LTTE ended up agreeing to talks in Feb 25 89. Only thing is that we failed to nab any of the high ranking commanders which ultimately would have won us the conflict. Regardless, it was a shitshow because of the lack of preparation. Had our battalions underwent a rigorous CI CT course, it would have gone a lot smoother IMO.

The current situation is that the indian army has been locked in. a struggle for 30 years in which they have failed to upgrade, tactics. It’s like they completely failed to understand
