Shitbrain take. Laser cut plate carriers are 1kg empty, Kevler blend plates are 1 kg max and Level 4 Ceramic ballistic plates are around 3.5-4kg. And everything comes with shooter's or low profile cuts. Obcourse they don't want to wear a 10kg BPJ at that altitude, and they wouldn't have to if procurement priorities were good.
