Indian Special Forces

They attacked a QRT right?

Who are the best troops after Ghatak in a unit..

3-6 whatever number the terrorists were..to attack a full team QRT is a big deal..big balls and big plannning and execution.

fore sure these are ssg.
QRT was believed to be in the first truck(that retaliated and had a LMG mounted)the second truck was not QRT most probably ( not confirmed I think there is a possibility both were trucks had infantry)
And the number of terrorists is believed to be 5,2 attacked on the second truck and 3 attacked on the possible QRT truck

Any source for these plans around SF?

Theatre commands are meant to more effectively use resources across the three forces in a combined-arms sort of concept.

As of now, nothing exists on paper with regard to Indian Special Forces.

By the way, AFSOD isn't based on JSOC.

In the US military, JSOC and SOCOM are two different entities.
JSOC pulls in a whole lot of resources from CIA, NSA, 160th SOAR and the President's office. The superior intelligence, reconnaissance, and targeting capabilities are what make the command what it is.
The Tier-1 units are what make only one aspect of the whole command, which is execution.

Firstly, we don't really have a Tier system, nor do I think it is needed in the Indian context. Maybe just one Tier-1 unit will suffice for us for the purpose of conducting HVT Kill/Capture and Hostage Rescue outside the national borders.
If AFSOD is supposed to be that unit, that's great, but I don't think it is, because till now nothing is public knowledge.

With the intent and purpose of creating a JSOC type entity, till the time it has direct reporting to PMO and pulls in resources from IB, RAW, NTRO etc., just making a unit of military operators is more or less redundant for the purposes of creating a mechanism to execute missions of strategic importance for the nation.

Also, given the state of Bharatiya babudom, believe something exists only when it has been inaugurated in public.
The sources and the claims have been discussed to death in the old forum when AFSOD was raised jedi even posted some books sc shots will have to find it someday

There is nothing in the news about a separate SF Command as far as I checked.

The book screenshots are of a proposed structure in Gen Katochs Book. He's detailed how it should have always been.

I’ll be honest it’s very confusing some are saying the covering truck was in the front some saying it was in the back but we know for a fact casualties were in the truck which didn’t have any armour nor any LMG this one-

Probably to lure army special forces. Olive green is their favorite color after all

I don't understand what is stopping special forces to not to deploy drones above every convoy movement, is it budget? If switched to infrared mode, the direction of fire can be detected even in a day light.

Not that easy. Quadcopters will have difficulty keeping up, you'll have frequent loss of comms thanks to the ISM band that most of these start ups use, and there's too much foliage for drones to peer through even with the best LWIR gimbals.

Armour chahiye gaadiyon mai. And get some decent EO/IR turrets please.
