Indian Special Forces

This is less expensive than the Silynx ones 9 got. Hence proved - either they dont look around for options as such or really want just the in ear ones.
in ear and over the head have their own purposes and mission sets. Maybe they chose it based on mission set and/or have both in ear and over the head in their arsenal.

Do we have any indian companies making comtacs?
None. Untapped market tbh but I am sure SAPL will flood this one as well with western stuff and call it
"designed and assembled in Dehradun"

do we have any indian companies making good tactical boots?
Mate move these questions to the appropriate thread

Agreed. But given 9 more often than not operates in mountains/jungles - makes perfect sense.

They could have a dozen or so over the ear ones in their HQ armoury for Pampore like CQB ops. Same for Quads.

@Arad Operator @Noob @Mr.Evil I have a question. Why wasn't 1 Para sent in for the Pampore op in 2016 with them actually specializing in urban combat/anti hostage situations.

I mean I get it the army won't let NSG do a clean op in their own backyard but why 9 & 10?

Is it cause 1 comes under Western command🙂

Jeez this ex soviet style training has gone so stale. Do they plan on never developing?

I completely agree with the latter half of the statement - The officer cadre of the Indian army used to come from well educated, well heeled, at least proper middle class families, with long lineages. Now, it probably comes from the lower strata of society. This is not a bad thing, but how many graduates of elite schools and universities even competing for selection to the academies ??
Just look at any ex NDA (specially army), still young in service, he won't be able to speak 2 proper sentences, he'll try to speak with an accent with a fouji tongue, but will fail miserably. OTA alumni are much more eloquent, and well read.. having come from the civvy street.

Army should urgently look at improving the quality of officer intake, get some well read intellectually inclined people from best schools into NDA, not focus on Sainik school types, whose world view is limited.

Just see what a clown sahani made out of himself in the recent podcast.. although, neither he nor most of his followers will realize this. No depth beyond the very tactical level platoon ops.

If army wants well educated officers, they should raise the age bar and directly recruit from top public universities.

The problem with the probationers today and the officers and men is that..

Everyone is joining SF to become someone when they bring nothing to SF.

Thatswhy SF is degrading because those who are coming have nothing to offer to SF.

Hence the river has stopped running and become a lake.

That's huge part of the reason that when you see former SOF guys advertising classes now there is a prominent disclaimer on them "US LEO/MIL & vetted NATO/Allied only".
But any US civilian, particularly if they're a US permanent resident or citizen can avail these courses as long as they're able to afford it since these classes tend to get pretty expensive like $300-400/class even for the basics

For instance, there's a USCG vet who was part of TACLETS turned instructor in my city and majority of his students are hispanics who moved from Latin American countries and working in private security firms. While I haven't attended any of his classes personally, I visited the same range a couple of times and his teaching methods seem to be similar to Ronin Tactics and I don't see any stringent background checks except if you have a valid US ID which begs the question, if any country intends to learn western SOF tactics, there's nothing stopping them from sending one posing as a civilian for the know-how while cost shouldn't be an issue if funded by the establishment
