Indian Special Forces

Is Manipur a free state where outsiders can run a tax free arms smuggling network however they feel and destabilize the Indian republic ? Either book this American and brief him in papa 2, or GoI is a cuck in my eyes. Letting foreign operators run amok, fanning insurgency and distributing arms like Santa on Christmas. Screw the press, and neutralize every outsider player on Indian soil. Grow some fucking spine for fucks sake. Anybody tried this in America, they'd get eaten alive by Homeland.

Stupid arrogant dude who gets drilled as a larper in the community but his gear quality is firee🔥🔥
Lucas is more of a competition shooter , he is in no way good in "combat" . but if its comes out to shooting he can outshoot pretty much anyone . He is arrogant af but often his reasoning is understandable .

The main reason i like trex is coz of issac his knowledge about stuff is fire .

Exactly his arrogance and his CQB vids are the only reason he gets lots of shit from the community otherwise his knowledge and his efforts to keep the quality of his gear is top notch

Military Police can raise such units imo but can you or anyone seeing this clarify my doubt ? Why did JSOC units gave PSD to generals throughout GWOT etc ? Can we reserve specific troops within para units for that purpose ?
JSOC units only provide protection during high threat situation, that too outside country.
But indian generals are getting para SF PSO at all the places, + para SF aren't trained for VIP protection either.
Btw, providing protection for VVIPs at high threat areas in conflict zones outside US are one of JSOC's mandates, they are trained for that. They provided security to Afghan president too..

Btw JSOC units absolutely hated the PSO roles as they signed up to be pipe hitters but I’ve explicitly seen Indian army veterans saying this is a good job for the paras as it gives para officers a cushy peacetime posting in Delhi

Mentality differences I guess

Check out this video from SFTS Nahan from a decade back - the weapon profiling and overall kit looks good enough for that time.

monoculars, a handful mepro mors, in ear comms etc.

Some significant changes as of now:

Sako is the std bolt action rifle, mepro mor pro is replacing itl mars, a new vertical wind tunnel as opposed to the makeshift suspension dangling arangement in the vid.

It would have been so easier to spot more modernisation had the other airborne units not been converted to SF.

Yes, mentality differences is the main reason. In JSOC, 99% of its soldiers wants to be deployed for combat operation because none of them are permanently deployed in conflict zones. Their higher ops understand the problem of prolonged department in battle zones. So they made 6 to 9 month tours to battle zones with rest of the time dedicated to training and development of tactics based on experience from battles. So They knows that doing PSO duty is waste of time and skills, so they hate it.

While most para units are permanently deployed in conflict zones, with its soldiers are continuously deployed in battle zones for 10 to 12 years, they consider such PSO duties as a mentel relief from high tense environment. And para SF don't have the luxury of going back to unit and develp a proper tactics or do some proper training. And para SF don't have a centralised command structure. Different battalion conduct things as they like, no place for proper training or exchange of tactics, experience or joint development of tactics with different battalions. JE conducted within para battalions are more of ego clash than joint development of tactics.
Ego is higher than mountain in para SF which is clearly seen in YouTube podcast with para officers proudly claiming that he said 'stfu' to his foreign counterparts when they tried to teach para SF guys on new shooting style!!.
Some para guys like to be the pet of generals. Luxurious life, better accommodation, good schools for kids etc etc ... And generals like to show off para SF (most elite unit of Indian army) as their bodyguard.

What was the reason of the stall post this video..why such a slow upgrade?

I think we are upgrading quite a bit .....
Its in patches and is often not not reflected on the area of operation , but now i am quite confident that in a few dozen years we will be up to date ..

Ye toh bhaiya aap MOD se hi puchlo. Upgrades happening can't deny - new pistols, SDRs, in ear comtacs, high cut helmets, even PCs, 10 Para toh olive planet ke square cut kafi time se use karti hai.

Problem is with uniformity, delayed AFSOD/joint command, and ofc a big shock - indian army doesn't learn unless that happens.

They have only delivered after that tbh. 2016 strikes should have gotten them every fucking thing they wanted. Marcos asked for V22 ospreys for insertions, still have old sea kings, etc.

Garud if you closely see are very well rounded in terms of kit, a proper infantryman from west per se.

Marcos is now taking some huge strides given their small size.

But Para's biggest problem is its manmoth size. It's infantry at best, just special on paper. The OG units will sadly suffer, airborne ones simply dont care much - it shows when they smirk while buying 1500 rupee tac shirts.

I still have hopes for things to change (faster) in the next 10 years (very bleak though).
