Just create a SPG like unit within army,
Why waste para SF. !?

Military Police can raise such units imo but can you or anyone seeing this clarify my doubt ? Why did JSOC units gave PSD to generals throughout GWOT etc ? Can we reserve specific troops within para units for that purpose ?

I mean that the structure that Indian leaders sit on is fragile and mostly for show

Effectively India is a paper tiger- Indian leaders can’t use conventional strength because it largely doesn’t exist

Pray do tell how so? Indian Army is the only largest conventional standing army in the world that does corp level exercises once or every 2 years and it goes on for a month or so. It regularly consumes nearly war level ammo of artillery and bullets in training every year.

Do you see Pakistan doing the same thing? China doing the same thing? US Army the same thing? PLA doesn't even do corp level exercises on a regular basis.

If I remember correctly most of the tier 1 nato sof including delta and sas provided persnol protection to vip or generals
But I still think it is just a waste just train unit in military police for this specific role as only focus to vip protection in hostile environment and just like spg is alot better at vip protection then para sf or Marcos because they train for specific purpose

I mean RR and infantry was used extensively in the 90s to deal with harder operations so Paras could do hunting ops around the LoC.

No battle tactics and technology has changed. RR has to update their training tactics to reflect the changing battlefield environment. Terrorists now have NGVs, radios, spotters and improved training. IA needs to acknowledge that.

They also have armor piercing rounds which are piercing through the convoys vehicles

C'mon, your post was deleted because you were comparing a mod with @rkhanna

Had you not made a comparision and only praised rkhanna, your post wouldn't have been deleted.

Also, new mods typically need time to settle down. They do the mod job for free and they aren't paid i.e they are volunteers.

Lets say we remove Para SF from PSO..Which other unit or regiment should take this role then?

PBGs are a different airborne unit all together.

Infantry doesnt have the aptitude..You know how my fathers bodyguard was picked..it was usually the tallest and fittest soldier..nothing else.

Now we cannot even do away from this system of PSO as you know in wars Lt Gen are a big target and are assets for any Army.

So who do you suggest should be picked?

Agreed with you on this ,besides it makes no sense to raise a unit specifically for close protection of generals and military vips. So para is the best option IMO

I know him since almost 14 years now and when he initially came he had 0 knowledge of anything.
