Indian Special Forces

I think both the GoI (not the era of war) and IA are hoping that our advantageous geo location with Himalayas on the north and open ocean on the south, with a militarily weak neighborhood (apart from china) as well as a large standing army ( quantity is a quality of its own) will serve as a deterrent to any peer enemy from attacking us. This may have been true for the last 50yrs, but newer tech, training and rapid progress of China will no longer guarantee that this approach may work. BD, Pak, Manipur etc...all show that we can and are being broken in unconventional ways and sadly our unconventional warfare units are way way behind in current modern spl warfare methods, equipment, training and thinking.....Unless rapid military reforms are implemented top down by GoI and shoved down IA's throat, things won't change, but for that you need a govt willing to bite the bullet, sadly the current one after a somewhat strong start has fizzled out into preaching shanti, buddha and mahatma BS
The Himalayas will become a speed braker on a road and Indian ocean will be like a swimming pool.

The way chinese are upgrading i am really concerned if our nation will exist like it does now in 2075.

We have jumlebaaz who dont do anything and when they face the heat they invite their favourite camera crew to shoot their most recently equipped unit which was not part of a centralised induction.

Chaprigiri full on…Shoooshaaa pooora chahiye!!!

doesnt SF specialize in small team insertion? whats the point in using 2-3 dozen SF guys accompanied with probably same amount of rr troops in 2 different levels of cordons just to hunt 2-3 jihadis at best?? thats literally half platoon of their entire battalion
That’s not how kashmir operations work. Usually majority of troops cordon off the area while a team of 6 goes in to hunt, this is for RR at least.

We need cordon because we don’t have air support

Unironically feel like Hlelfire is the most balanced user I have met on this space, though he might lean slightly towards “jai ho” .same with aviator and rkhanna, who slightly lean the other way.

Guys like abingdonboy make the right message but express it to extreme, and then you have jai ho/army brats who are clowns all around.

Hellfire makes an excellent point, when he talks about civilians, he’s not talking about folks on this forum, he’s talking about the big brained ex farts on reddit who refer wikipedia as a source and don’t know jack shit of the IA’s accomplishment. He should probably do better job specifiying

I think the actual problem lies beyond ego. It is the fact that we look not beyond our own selves, bas jo hai vo hai kind of excuses wrapped in more carefully thought words. The "Goofy" or irrelevant training reflects poorly on the force's culture.

Combat against peer adversaries is the ultimate test of a military force. Limited skirmishes or asymmetric COIN (Counterinsurgency) operations are valuable but do not adequately prepare a force for the scale, intensity, and complexity of combined arms warfare.

The modern battlefield evolves rapidly. Forces that rely on outdated doctrines or equipment risk being outmaneuvered and overwhelmed. China’s advancements in AI, drones, and network-centric warfare highlight the need for urgent modernization.

And it's not that seasoned vetrans of IA have not spoken about this before, the Jai Ho gang keeps of barking

Medics Deserve all this and a lot more........... Need more women doing gods work
honestly that's how women operate in CAG as well, long back Brig Sanay Thakur of 9 Para said in Op Sarp Vinash, during that time, they used female operatives to do intel work, very up close and dangerous. Women do need more recognition

What you will learn about Comms Management against pear enemy with EW in one operation will be more than what you will ever learn while doing COIN or Exercises , coz you just don't need them in COIN , Motorola's are good enough .

This canuck turd is so funny. Everybody in this pigsty circklejerk sub creams their pants when it's an Austrian jagdkommando or a Finnish ranger donning a skull mask. But as soon as title reads Indian it's cringe now.

Mate, I don't care whether it's Eastern or Western, but that skull mask is cringe.
I can't seem to understand people's obsession with Simon Riley.

Well if you use them like Russians you can get out anything.

absolutely!

That is the whole argument of these 'jai ho' fellas, just like Mountain Rats had recently replied when I asked him about equipment, he said "Weapons : We have what is required to do the job successfully (1:27 ratio in CI/CT speaks for it) !"

Boss, the kind of weapons, equipment and tactics you need for COIN in J&K & NE is different of what you'll expect in a neer peer situation.
