Galwan was a tactical loss on our end.But we gained a tactical victory in Yangste in 2022 and Pangong was a stalemate.

Balakote was a strategic failure imo.

Op Sindoor was a near one sided victory. Had IAF been given 24-48 more hours they’d have finished the PAF easily.

Vietnam: they had no solid objective, main aim being there to assist and support South Vietnam, but they were also given orders not to pursue the enemy into the north. Basically fighting an insurgency against another military with hands tied.

Afghanistan: they achieved their initial objective, killing Osama. Their nation building thing was what didn't work, but that was a secondary thing mostly for politics.

And all of their SF have completed missions that are absolutely mind boggling, and since you mentioned Vietnam, the apt example would be MACV-SOG. Read some of the stuff on Delta too, we can't even compare, hell most other SF can't. They're on another level.

Agree on Afghans, disagree on vietnam. They lost there fair and square. Platoons would get wiped out in ambush.

i m not challenging amricunts superior technology nd economy....i m questioning about their military planners nd armed forces quality. which u guys r admirers. In indian army case i accept they r lacking in different fields. but if american army hv same budget like india or same technology like india...they sucked even worse than india or other countries.

These are all excuses…We have countries with tiny budgets having better equipment than our SF.

Its all about priorities.

There is no value for life in India…When 3-4 operators of 9 Para get matyred the sentiment is not how to avoid such incidents in the future the sentiment is that its destiny.

Please Explain how mass conversion of Para to SF makes sense (you have killed both SF and Parachute capability in one move)

Why do we have 4-5 Different Small arms (calibre) in one UNIT - who is going to run the logistic train?

Ours is a proper army that defends our countries sovereignty.

Theirs is a global occupation force that controls various civil wars and regimes (afghan, iraq, vietnamese, etc/ u.s. didn’t fight those as the main party)

But yeah their country has been alive as 300 years. AThey were once fighting decades in insurgencies and civil war while our (British Indian army) was busy conqeuring the world for the british crown.

Yeah I did exaggerate it on Vietnam. They did get fucked there. Afghanistan, the only messy part was the way they withdrawed, but like some have already said, it was on their own terms

MACV-SOG 'Green Berets' were extremely successful with their hearts and minds approach in winning over the Hmong and Montagnards who were actively repelling the Vietcong and NVA in far off FOBs with great success. Their hit and run tactics forced the Vietcong to go on the defence and develop 'anti MACV-SOG' tracking teams.

The US Army and Marines then wanted their share of glory and did a wave of retribution attacks on Vietcong sympathetic villages and used a heavy handed approach with napalm and carpet bombing which completely flipped the script for the Vietcong.

The South Vietnamese regime was a lot like the Myanmar Junta wo just wanted to fill their pockets and did not give a damn about their people. Defections, corruption and sabotage was rampant amongst the South Vietnamese military.

US suffered 50000 KIA and after the Tet Offensive realized that the best place to tie down the Soviets was in the Middle East (Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Lebanon) and so pulled up their tent stakes and left.

dude...first thing i didnt compare amricunt nd indian military in equipment, weapon quality, technology, economy etc....its obviously no other country can compare with USA. here i am pointing fingers on american military planners nd their soldiers quality. On paper global superpower tag on america looks real. but when we see their actions nd result on ground, their power dont look impressive. their mighty force hv no guts to take action on north korea nd iran. i can bet, when china will attempt grabbing taiwan. amricunts will not involve directly with taiwan, just like they did with Ukraine. british was far better than amricunts in their superpower days.

Since this is a SF thread, I'll only use their SF for comparison.

American SF dudes are top notch people, except some very loud idiots that make podcasts or do stupid shit, most are quiet professionals. Their quality of soldiers in SF is something we obviously can't compare with, mainly because they invest a lot into training them. Behaviour wise we also have and had gems like these, but nowadays SF and everywhere else officer quality is slipping fast. Same doesn't go for them because they utilise their SF and SOproperly with proper opsec.
