SBS Squadron pacthes
(Left to right, starting from top)
M Squadron, Parachutist challenge coin WW2, V Squadron (blurred / similar to E squadron SAS, both work for MI6 as part of the increment)
C Squadron, J Squadron (SDV), Z Squadron and X Squadron

Anyone got any idea how MARCOS might be organized ?

NSG with other agencies like IB, Delhi Police and CISF at a Multi-Agency Exercise in Delhi.

I was at home when 26/11 happened and watched the entire coverage day and night.

The biggest difference is that incase of a future attack the terrorists would not roam unchallenged like in 26/11.

Rest on the topic of upgrade, equipment and training its better if i hold my opinion just like us older men do when their female partners ask them about their new dress.😝

You could forgive the cr@p equipment- it’s been discussed to death. It is what it is, the same big brains that value their golf courses and jet packs aren’t interested In the difference between MLOK and P-rails

But their tactics and movements are objectively dogsh!t, you could genuinely do better after watching a few YouTube videos on your phone. There’s 0 excuse for it, these guys draw a salary, they are meant to be professional soldiers and they still look less high speed than a local municipality’s SWAT team in the West

As long as they look ‘cool’ on the ‘gram or in the edits, if they get smoked by jihadis in broad daylight that is apparently a secondary concern

Decades of ‘combat experience’ and these boys are less honed than an average NATO infantry unit in GWOT

To offset what I said above, NSG seem to pay a LOT more attention to movement,

It’s a real shame they are a a purely deputationist unit otherwise I think they * could* become world class in time as they build on expertise- that’s impossible in their current structure. They’ll be one of the better ones in a sea of mediocrity/amatuers

(The channel attached to the video above has some somewhat interesting footage)

If IA had any sense they’d have gone to DRDO years ago for their own stream of SF specific equipment or they could’ve launched an IDEX challenge to come up with specific solutions and streamlined it into service.

LAM, optronics, NOD, ANR headsets etc etc are not rocket science, Indian companies big and small would churn out quality stuff if given the chance. Their gen 1/2 stuff would likely be trash but they’d get it right if given time and support

Then again, these are the clowns that can’t even figure out how to buy standard issue rifles

Take
All states must have one NSG hub .
The state's SWAT/STF must come under them for training and procurement.
Most Tier 1 metro cities have an SCG hub assigned to it.

NSG gets way too big if that happens and as you can see they struggle to have standardised training and equipment as it is. I’m still annoyed that Modi has not followed through with his promise to get NSG entirely out of VVIP and purely focusing on their original mission (CT)

The hub model makes sense but the hubs need to be given a LOT more freedom to procure independently from HQ, they also all should have integral air assets (if I was 16 again I’d say they should have their own but let’s be real, they should have a few IAF helos attached to each hub 24/7 on a 10 minute alert status) that allows them to be anywhere inside their AOR within 45 mins (their current minimum response time is a lot more). It’s quote absurd that right now they are most likely dependant on road transport (good luck in Indian traffic) and whilst they have helipads they don’t have assets attached permanently.

I do have a bit of a concern that the regular IAF HU they’d have to employ wouldn’t have helicopters or pilots equipped or trained to do the kind of dynamic low level insertions that would be asked of them in real life but such is the Indian way- everything is jugaad until the next disaster and embarrassment

The NSG already does a huge amount in training local and state tactical units
