Sir, stay in siberia for 3 months in winters and then stay in drass for 3 months, you will understand the difference. It is very common in those regions that if your knee is exposed to cold, the fluid will build between the joints and it requires surgery. Dandruff like powder will be visible on your whole skin which doesn't happen in Himalayas. There you do get skin flakes but the skin doesn't shrink.

Comparative to polar cold, himalayan cold is way way humid.

I am talking about handful from special force not the whole regular army. Also among the SF only handful will be fit for such extreme training of diving near icebergs or spending winters in no sun for 6 months in polar regions. Half of them will break the course and return due to depression and extreme sea sickness and cold.
