Indian Special Forces

Hmmm, I am extremely sceptical about this news. I have an technical background and I have worked with drones.

This seems like an hitjob news on our desi drones, inserting relevant keywords (chinese, hacking) to spread panic and fear. I think some dumbo journalist is intentionally / unintentionally spreading misinformation and panic by classifying jamming with hacking.

If you envision that hacking a drone with Chinese tx/rx compoments will be as easy as starting up a laptop and typing some really scary commands really fast on a back-green screen, that's not how hacking works.
Yup it was jammed but they wanted to add some masala so they called it hacking .

What if a Para captain/major watches this and tries to implement it in his own unit?

Will his ustaads/seniors let him? Or make fun/dismiss it altogether saying lol, internet se sikhake hume sikhayenge!

From a novice POV, I think they have a chance of improving their CQB by 15-20% if they learn wholeheartedly from this.

No dissing/satire on this one plz - looking for a reasonable answer to a genuine query.

I think it would depend on the senior. Not all of them would be closed to this or all of them open to this. I think a pretty big chunk of them would dismiss this saying "internet se sikhake hume sikhayenge". If that was not the case then with the amount of knowledge available on the net para sf guys would have already implemented a lot of these. IMO

[Disclaimer: am a Noob giving Gyaan , don't take me seriously ]

Just watching from videos without instructor can generate a lot of training scars but taking some elements from vids and testing them out extensively with their own doctrines using simunitions and then incorporating them as per their own use case/scenarios is the way to go .

The thing is just by doing iterations with Sims and different tactics ,they will surely figure out something that will work for them .They might discover something even better .
They can create a team just to test such things and thus develop newer ways and training systems that can be passed on within .

A captain or Major is not a kid and no ustaad can make fun of him for anything..he is an officer after all and this is not US Army that jawans can taunt officers.

If an officer tries to implement something i think if he can give the right reasons for change in SOP he will be given the go ahead.

A good CO will also give him good ACR and mention that the officer is innovative etc.So he will get to do good courses and all coz not all officers are considered studious in Infantry or Para SF.

A bad CO and group of officers might make fun of him in officers mess and thats about it.I dont think there might be any repercussions.

Fun fact…Pampore incident both officers were trained by US instructors i think and they were given the go ahead for the very reason that the seniors believed that these officers were better trained than the rest.

knights armament ks1 (l403a1), mcq-prt supperessor, vortex optics razor gen3 (i believe) lpvo+aimpoint acro red dot. £10,000- 11,000 i.e. $12-13,000.
Does that thing cost that much?? The noveske rifle set ups of Gold squadron ST-6s costs less than that iirc.

What was the AAR of their individual performances?

What are the advantages of having the optics so far away…almost seeing them regularly in Indian Army.
Faster target acquisition
Increases fov
More room for accessories like magnifiers, nvgs, thermals etc
Less reticle disruption from parallax.
It also makes passive aiming with nvgs easier

Do the maths!!

You are not supposed to equip all the 10k with a new or particularly this expensive rifle only the best units can get it in that too only the operators not the support staff by that the cost will be way less.

Havent seen much accessories with Para SF otherwise it would totally make sense.

Ya i was just giving an idea…and this is just this years budget.

Ever since i was a kid and started reading newspapers i have mostly read the military returning unspent funds.

Para works differently from normal units they are the men who are eager to do shit like this and want to learn more afaik so the chances of this happening is low on top of that recently after col shivender is getting so much limelight with his knowledge and gear you will see that there is a shift in the kind of images you will see by the paras it will be more “fancy” looking and not that chapri one (just my assumption from seeing recent images of para )

Also I have heard from many officers that inside the units there are men who read books of foreign SOF operators try to learn their way and be the best (Col shivender also mentioned this) so I think there are operators who learn you just don’t see them doing it as the number is very low.
