Spoofing GPS - its kind of Hacking but example I gave was that even sophisticated Drones can be hijacked and as Russians found in Syria your own drone taking our your own bases due to spoofing in Syria. Why do you think Army is going hammer and tongs over chinese components in "military" drones - if it was not security threat. Do we know exact make model and year of manufacture of drone that got affected in LoC and North east in Arunachal ? Was it the newer switch UAV or the older model Netra? I doubt early models had any encryption supported. GPS spoofing can also be prevented by relying on own encrypted NAVIC and GAGAN signals like this probably - and having built in signal distortion detection capability in drone detection to detect spoofing or Jamming attempt.

I have seen a particular Raj Rif battalion in the cant
All were tall, well built not too lean. They would eat lots of ghee with everything even with the tea. Would have a tough PT everyday and then they would have Sprouted Moong and Chana. Later on they would have goodies which they carry from homes Churma, Dahi, Lassi and all.
And btw nothing to do with Martial race

It all comes down to what unit..whats the training like bcoz diet is same for all units.

I was living in a cantonment since many weeks and every morning when i went to run i saw really tall and well built guys running..from infantry regtt(2 seperate units) ..all of them had a local akhada wrestler type of body.

In Delhi where i live i have seen NSG guys running many times and they all look very lean.

So maybe its all ragda in the end.

CO of the only grey ops unit India came close to have. Made the pakis shit their pants. But then the genrols... Anyways, leave. Happy he is living a good life after retirement (lives in Delhi with his dogs, travels and comes to a few select podcasts).

Spoofing is NOT hacking. Its a type of jamming, specifically can be categorized as DRFM jamming.

Now be ready for imported Israeli & American quadcopters at 10x the price which will internally still use Chinese components but manufactured under American brandname (like Foxxcon electronics in Apple).

This is one decision where army has applied brains. This shall our drone companies to fetch or even design their own components. Short term pain for long term gain. We havecqpqbility to design each and every drone component in house and we have com0anies specializing in that Domain, this act shall create vaccum for them to act and fill demand for COTS.

Navic signals are encrypted. Thats where signal distortion detection shall help in sifting signal from noise

My old man was in charge of Anantnag and there was a training camp in Anantnag where they used to conduct parades..imagine going to POk.

When us old timers say the standards have dropped we are not saying for any sadistic pleasure..its the reality.

I mean i dont see todays para sf kill 30-40 taliban without any casualties like it used to be in 90s.

Idea Ideaforge claims they use multiplie GNSS receivers for redundancy and still managed to get spoofed .
A bit of rnd on the receivers could have saved them .

this jugaad mentality i don't know helps or not but i mentioned same in old forum as well during strings of ambushes last years that even if they had put up ballistic shields inside gypsy that would have provided atleast a fighting chance against ambushes. again i don't know if thay would have helped or not.
