How long exoskeleton works before it discharges to become dead weight for soldiers on LRP? I can understand exoskeleton helping soldiers to send stuff to posts and Man heavy stuff when needed. But I can think of them bein used in Raids - unless their extraction is guaranteed before they run out of batteries. But whats interesting is to see is unitree robot with 2hour battery life. Indian company Vaanar is also developing similar. An armored version could do wonders for search & destroy hideouts in jungles. They can be fitted with new batteries by human Patrol at safe distance via Drones or they could come back when they get replaced by another set of Robots.
Tech rnd is the bread and butter for DefenseChina is going from a Near Peer to a Peer of America at an incredibly fast rate. They learnt all the lessons against us from the past 4-5 years as well.
Tech R&D is the bread and butter of a modern military.
IMO honestly at the current state of chipsets and tech the Exoskeleton will at best be used for Load Baring duties for the REMFs
the current crop of exoskeletons will not work once they are dragged through mud, swamps, deserts (like on a LRP).
Second is the O&M supply chain and energy needs and battlefield surivavability.
BUT - the 3/4th Generation of these Kits aided by AI will become the norm for Combat Operations - though the logistics and EW Warfare may limit their use to defensive duties
by the 6/7th GEneration You will have Soldiers with ExoSkels slaved to Swarm Air and Land Drones and other UM Kit. [ Like the movie Edge of Tomorrow]
