What US control are you talking about ? At least read up more in this regard. When the mullahs seized power in the 1979 revolution this didn't come thru only due to the Mullahs chanelling people's dissatisfaction & mass discontent.

There were various other parties involved in the revolution as well most notably the Tudeh party of Iranian communists.

In order to avenge their humiliation courtesy the hostage crisis in Tehran , the US & the Gulf Sheikhdoms egged on Saddam Hussain to launch a war on Iran which he duly complied with.

Result - the Iranians who had divided loyalties before rallied behind the mullahs who took the war to Iraq & slaughtered all opposition at home consolidating power .

The country most aware of this is the US. And in order to do what you're suggesting requires boots on the ground. Right now there's no opposition worth the name in Iran where the mullahs through their own networks have monopolised the economy , the war fighting machinery & internal security .

The rest of the population may well be against the mullahs but as long as they aren't organized & lack fire power it amounts to zilch . Hence a revolution is totally ruled out for the present .

As i mentioned previously there have been several disruptions leading to capability degradation of Iranian missile forces.

Arre they know, if they overdo it Uncle Sam will get involved, and they will be bombed into the stone age even without boots on the ground.

There is not much to iran airforce . Their focus was more on creating paramilitary forces and arming them to dominate middle east . They have made thousands of ballistic missiles and drones for whatever it's worth is . They do have a plan to acquir su35 and j10 in large numbers , so future battle won't be easy and ll bring a existential issue to Israel . This is last chance for them .

Yes, one of the aims was to degrade Iran's entire delivery platform i.e their missile program & C&C apart from the obvious elephant in the room - the Iranian NWP.

In the first two aims they seem to have succeeded to some extent. Not sure how successful have the Israelis been in destroying their NWP though.
