True iAF is in league of its own. That’s why its famous not as a fighting force, but a zoo of legacy post WW2 era jets like Mig21/23/29, Jaguars, Mirages,Su29/30 etc. Its best and latest fighter is a fourth gen overpriced French import, that too in numbers you can count on your fingers.

MoD should have accepted saffrons offer of snecma hot core integration to Kaveri. 85-88kn thrust after burner with snecma hot core Kaveri would be enough for MK1A. Now yankees are dwindling carrots on our ass for engines and MK2 - F414 is still not under negotiations

than u will order 200+ tejas mark 2....that order will take atleast 6-7 year to complete by 32 aircraft per year production rate. so we r inducting a 4.5 genration aircraft beyond 2040. that is a problem

we hv to start retiring our first batch of su 30 mki from 2042. we cant replace them with tejas mark 2

MK2 aren’t touted as Su-30 MKi replacement but AMCA may be the replacement if it’s ready for mass production by 2040

we should make a single engine medium weight 5 genration (just like su75) to replace su 30 mki.

There are no plans for single engine 5th gen jet but can go for F35 now which kills that idea if IAF have any.

Change the engine with similar specs is not that impossible task at this early stage. It has been done multiple times in the past. It will be a big problem for LCA and MWF though. But I believe they are negotiating a deal for local assembly of GE engine and its in final stage of contract signing

They’re doing it because Russia is literally bent on us and offering us joint production of Su-57 and AL31 engines and new 5th gen engine IP for AMCA as well. Trump means business ans he won’t curtail GE engines deal but arm twist us to buy more weapons from them

that will take atleast 5 years in getting IOC to FOC at HAL pace complete Squadron by 2032 atleast 10 years late. And MWF or LCA 2 Will be dead. As there is no engine in GE 414 class
