For your sad information 4.5 gen jets will stay beyond 2040.than u will order 200+ tejas mark 2....that order will take atleast 6-7 year to complete by 32 aircraft per year production rate. so we r inducting a 4.5 genration aircraft beyond 2040. that is a problem
MK2 aren’t touted as Su-30 MKi replacement but AMCA may be the replacement if it’s ready for mass production by 2040we hv to start retiring our first batch of su 30 mki from 2042. we cant replace them with tejas mark 2
There are no plans for single engine 5th gen jet but can go for F35 now which kills that idea if IAF have any.we should make a single engine medium weight 5 genration (just like su75) to replace su 30 mki.

Change the engine with similar specs is not that impossible task at this early stage. It has been done multiple times in the past. It will be a big problem for LCA and MWF though. People are making a massive deal out of not much here. GE engines were selected for their T/W ratio and their good service life in required form factor. If they turn antagonist, we have options in the RD-33MK with 88kn thrust and 4000 hours of MTBO. It may not take even 2 years to test and recertify the RD-33MK on a LCA Mk-1 if shit has hit the fan. Hell I wanna see a larger Mk-2 with AL-31FP. We already increased it's wet thrust figure to 130kn ballpark. Russian engines are always there if American go back to their old shenanigans. Only program that can be delayed considerably by Americans is the AMCA but it has a long projected development timeline to begin with.
