guys, hear me out.. an outlandish idea..from my tech brain - not an aero tech by any standard)
the current existing tejas mk1A dev team - which is probably working on Mk2, AMCA, TEDBF etc.. could probably add one extra aicraft:
Tejas B - with russian or french engine.
this is parallel and more like "HJT/IJT" project for new/incoming engineers to get their hands on a real project.
this would:
1) skill up the newbie aero techs,
2) create a pathway to reduce dependency on single point failure (GE engine) for any future versions in case Kaveri is delayed further.
3) ensure we have available engines and a slightly faster turnaround time in case we have a grounded tejas plane (US sanction on engine parts etc)
this does require more funds, however, but the outcome will be a reduced risk (This will also help in ensuring in future, we can get Kaevri in)
however, the best bet is STILL, getting kaveri on the tejas ASAP.
