Yes understandable they are corrupt, but are they fully sold out to cookies? or perhaps the local AR used to profit from the poppy production of cookies?
This is a very serious matter if a CAPF and ex-Army regiment is bhevaing like this?
The shocking part about the trouble in Manipur is the conflicting narratives. None of the state agencies seem to have a consistent story. The Army says one thing, the CAPF says another, and the State Police has its own version. Both sides have their own narratives, so right now it’s just a complete mess.

I don’t know much about the Tehelka situation—it seems old, considering the fatigue and money issues seem to be from before the 500/1000 ban, in my opinion. That being said, there are always a few bad apples, no matter where you are in the world.

The question now is, what’s the path to peace? It feels like the pressure has been released for now, but it’s only a matter of time before things flare up again, bringing us back to square one.
