Pahalgam Islamic Terror Attack

And you know the sad part...

It's not like we don't have the money. This year the IA/MOD returned 12500 crores from their budget because they (apparently) couldn't spend it.

I mean, Armasen Tactical Plate carriers cost ~4,000 INR. If we bought 5,00,000 pieces, then it costs 2,000 crores.

With plenty left for NVG's, Integrated knee pad trousers, ballistic helmets, camo paint, sights for battle rifles etc etc etc..

Just for half of that money returned, we could have modernized our SF and frontline troops and the remaining maybe use it on procuring artillery and heavy weaponry. These are all short term procurement stuff and should've been done easily.

No other solid reason? Let's say we can completely wipe their military assets out after 100 days when we attack. Would we take that option or do we take the option of launching the attack earlier just because narrative will be lost and people would have moved on? The end goal is to wipe out or weaken our enemy massively. The goal here is not political theater.
You think the war won't end up without using nuclear weapons? Pakistan couldn't defeat India conventionally but certainly they've enough nuclear arsenal. India isn't stupid enough to engage in wars that could end up with nuclear clouds. India will use other methods than directly engage in war. The war hysteria will die out within a few days.

The end goal is exactly political theatrics, and winning the elections. Let's be honest for a second. What is the government's role? To weaken our enemies and increase the stakes in our favour? The main goal of the government is to win next elections.

Modi won't take a political L. He would have to respond somehow, otherwise the opposition would use that against him. Now, we just have to see whether Modi responds just for theatrics or actually weakening the enemy.

I don't think Porki scum will have the balls to push nuclear button. They know what happens if they do. I highly doubt they possess tactical nukes which needs to be extremely small to fit on a small rocket. US tried something like a artillery nuke test during cold war and they dropped that idea given the risks involved in handling such a small nuclear device. We need to call their nuclear bluff and do what need to be done.

in any case, our NRIs should be better prepared in cuntries like the UK, Canada and New Zealand which has some significant population of indians and porkie subhumans

i'd say UAE and middle eastern ones too but those sheikhs would not want war things to be spilled in their lands, then again who knows...

already porkies in the UK are taking it to street protests

For Modi elections are 4 years away. I ask again, if our end goal is destroying their military assets can be achieved after 100 days, why not take that opportunity? It makes no sense to launch a mini war when they are already on high alert. Tire them out. Let them keep expecting an attack and lose interest and withdraw their frontline assets. Then you swoop in and give them a knock out blow. This will take a long time for them to retaliate. And with the onset of winter Chinese wouldn't think about any misadventure either.

Vikrant CBG back in port. Op Parakram 2.0 winding down already?!? Supreme leaderji happy with some border arty duels and playing water-water. How is this any riposte??

This was ok in 1971 with Indira, Manekshaw and a principled opposition with a relatively small "peaceful" population. Think about the mischief the opposition and 0.5 front could create if we were to wait 6-10 months. It's either now or we take it in the nuts and move on.

Some purchases made recently for the Army make some sense in this context :
  • December 2024 - 100 K9 Vajra 155/52 mm SPH
  • February 2025 - Pinaka munitions (extended range 45 km and area denial 37 mm)
  • March 2025 - 307 ATAGS 155/52 mm TGS
It seems that the brass has come around to he realisation that imported systems will not arrive. However this standoff should hopefully hammer in this fact.

Govt certainly knows how many they've. We commoners can only assume. They possess significantly powerful MRBMs. Even their ground forces seem to be very efficient & decently equipped. Only time will tell what's gonna happen.

I think Pakistan has edge over India in terms of long range rocket artillery. Indian army does not possess enough self propelled howitzers, so as a result outdated towed howitzers will face high attrition due to counter battery fire. Even amateur have better understanding of warfare than corrupt Indian army generals.

When did we induct Astra mk2
AFAIK we did not, that thread is not really accurate.

I would classify our BVR capability into 3 tiers
1. Meteor on 36 Rafale (J-10C with PL-15 would be close comparison)
2. Astra Mk1 & updated R-77 on MKI/Mig-29 (and a few Tejas few if any) .F-16 Blk52 with AMRAAM-C would be in same tier, and Jf-17 with Pl-12 would be silightly lower)
3. MICA and Derby on M-2000 and most Tejas. Also R-27 versions taht probably still make up a big chunk of inventory for the MKI. Ideally these should be able to take up any PAF fighter except the Tier-1/2 ones.

That would indeed be effective, and Indira did it, because the Bangladeshi refugee problem was a constant crisis. After 3-4 months, everyone would forget about this terrorist attack, and there would be pressure or incentive for the central government to pursue this incident anymore.

Accha...

BJP didn't need a "false flag" to decimate the opposition in Maharastra, Haryana & Delhi... but they need this for Bihar. 👏
