Project Surya/Next Generation Launch Vehicles (NGLV)

Top line of the 3rd SS reads 150 Tons LEO in Single Launch / Multiple Launches ( leave aside the multiple launches ) whereas Vision 2040 with the icon of the NGLV reads 70 tons. Why the discrepancy ?
150t is for Single Launch Architecture and for moon base, they are currently pursuing dual launch architecture ( this is confirmed)
Dual launch is cheaper and requires less development time

Here's what we have learnt about NGLV and related variants from this recent presentation

Baseline NGLV
20 ton to LEO
9 ton to GTO

NGLV- H (NGLV with strap on solid boosters)
30 ton to LEO
12 ton to GTO

(I just wish ISRO use a bigger Solid booster, or increase the number of boosters to 4 and increase the LEO payload capacity to 35 tons, to allow us a comfortable Lunar flyby)

ISRO has also proposed a 150 ton to LEO capable super heavy Launch Vehicle for a future lunar transit capability

NGLV will be integrated horizontally and use a titable UT during launch (similar to what Space X uses)

more number of boosters like 4 means they can't be integrated horizontally and erected. Hence only 2 are possible side by side.

One more interesting thing about this project is we are getting our 2nd true indigenous liquid engine.

Vikas,CE-7.5 & SCE-200 are derivatives of foreign engines, only CE-20 is indigenous design , now LME-1100 will join the indigenous engine list. With this we will become fully indigenous in spaceflight

I hope they go straight for super heavy 150 ton version instead of 70 ton, will multi-fold increase India space lifting capability as well as amount of important equipments we can put in space.

Let's aim for top position, what's with always REASONABLE, ACCORDING TO BUDGET SHIT, just for this once, act wild GOI.

It's not just budget, its about engine & materials, this is first time for us to design an indigenous 1000KN thrust engine, all earlier engines except CE-20 are of foreign designs. We cannot jump straight to a 3000KN Full flow Staged Combustion engine from a 200KN Gas generator engine design, that too even before mastering the Oxidiser rich staged combustion cycled SCE-200 semicryo engine. If we go that route, we will fall flat just like in Kaveri's case.

So, they are going to convert SCE-200 engine for methalox use right?

Intresting thread by Indranil Roy on Why NGLV uses a cluster of 9 engines and went for a 3 stage design instead of the more conventional 2 stage approach

No, 3000KN Methalox engine will be a clean sheet new design

SCE-200 is Oxidiser rich staged combustion
3000KN methalox currently under conceptual study phase will be Full Flow Staged Combustion like SpaceX raptor

& 1100KN thrust LME-1100 currently under development will be a gas generator cycle engine like CE-20

More details about the 150 ton to LEO capable Super Heavy Rocket's Engine, (from an older presentation) it will be a 3000KN Full Flow Staged Combustion Engine (based on Learnings from the SCE 200)

Once upon a time, soviet were building full staged engine with the name of rd-270, which was going to give 670 tons of thrust, much bigger than isro proposed 300 tons engine or even that raptor.
It was way back in 70s though.
