This is in Japan I believe, who just recently started allowing peacefuls to migrate there and its already creating issues there. CCP will learn the lesson the hard way.. Pakistan getting out control and Afghanistan under Taliban will create immense problems for its Xinjiang region. CCP is already running a literal Concentration Camp for the Uigher Muslims..which has been kept under rugs and silence by CCP bribing the Islmamic Wahabbi Mullas..but when push to the wall US Deep State will not hesitate in running a long PsyOps..and buyout the Mullahs and open a Western Front on China through Af-Pak region.

Reason being--
1. Hilsa(Tenualosa ilisha) is a salt water fish/ marine fish, means, its adult life is in ocean. But during mating season at the start of rainy season, it comes toward sweet water channels, i.e - rivers to lay the eggs. The further it swims through the river water upstream( kinda like salmon), the further it's saline nature reduces, flesh softens and whitens, and the particular scent and flavour gets prominent, while their bellies get wider to accommodate egg sack.

2. In WB, we have 2 main river water stream going toward Bay of Bengal, river hoogley and the rupnarayan. While the later has been particularly made almost stagnant due to sluice gates at ' Kolaghat/ Mecheda', and the 1st at farakka, the natural migratory path of hilsa has greatly been hampered. Apart from that, the fishermen from Sundarban and Digha/ Diamond Harbor and the deep sea trawlers use prohibited fishing nets to fish out the smaller size hilsas directly from either sea or at river estuary. There are laws that prohibits fishing of 'khoka- ilish' aka the baby hilsas, but the demand and the greed is destroying the fish and the next gen of fish in here--- in WB. We even don't let the hatchlings/spawns return to sea for their life cycle continuation.. fish them all and throughout. SO, na raha hilsa babies- na bacha next gen of bigger hilsa------ hence the price goes sky high and we look east .

But now it seems situation is getting better with more awareness and common sense implementation seeding in the fishing communities by government agencies.

now the Bangladeshi side story-
Bangladesh applies that law that strictly prohibits fishing of khoka ilish, also the higher size fishing net with wider gap to lets the baby or smaller hilsas to get through is mandatory there. Also as per my knowledge ( i might be wrong though), they regulate the river traffic while hilsas migrate, thus the quality of hilsa along with bigger size down sizes WB's hilsas.

Hilsa fishing and yield generally goes in cyclic order, generally every alternate year its fishing is bit more prohibited to let the fishes grow. BUT again... the greed factor strikes in.

There have many tries been through fisheries dept to cultivate this fish at fisheries, but all failed mostly. Though, was reading somewhere that Assam has made some progress in propagating hilsa there, don't know the details yet.
