Man, we can pat our backs as much. But we as Indians lack civic sense, have no sense of traffic rules and cleanliness. We are not way better than them in this regard. We may not be this bad but still we are shit compared to other western countries.

firstly, folks who spend time on this topic are top 1% income group in India, which makes it a form of elitist gaslighting.

not going to happen, may be by 2047, that too a small probability depending on what type of gormints (centre&state&local) people elect in the future. and we will be too old to appreciate it by 2047.

how do we know it is not going to happen?
because tax collected(direct + indirect) per capita is around 2300 ₹ currently (per annum), which means vast majority of the indian population is still poor, that they don't have time to worry about civic sense.

ofcourse this discussion not pointless, but limit it to urban areas where upper middle class and rich people are concentrated as percentage of population locally.

Agree to the fact that it all depends on people. That is where the problem is, forget government, we don't need governments to have a sense that we should not be spitting and throwing garbage where we want.

I dont buy the argument that we are poor so we can spit anywhere and throw garbage where we want. Words like gaslighting are freely used here by everyone, it is a matter of fact that Person need not be rich/elitist to have a civic sense to not to spit or to follow traffic rules.

May be we can discuss on this in an appropriate thread.

correction : read 2300 ₹ currently (per annum) as 25000 ₹ per annum.
32 lakh crore divided by 140 crore.

It doesn't matter. I can post photos of filth from Americas or Europe and can bash them. %age of population living sub standard lives defines who are same or not.

Civic sense improves with income levels as people get richer and freeier.

First world is way way ahead of India, second world is way ahead of India, India similarly is way ahead of most of third world and simply way way ahead of LDCs like Pakistan or Bangladesh even if they projected similar income levels in surveys despite almost no industrialization and a fraction of India's per capita consumptions.

This is not a self introspection thread either where we have see where we stand against east Asia or western world, it is a shitposting thread to cover & troll Bangladeshi online fanboys.

Absurd that you saw saw buses in such dilapidated state, buses bashing each other and thought sem2sem.
Things are bad here but nowhere near as bangaldesh.
Indian traffic is decent in most places where road is well kept.
