Small Arms and Weapons

If someone is using the term "Automatic Rifles" then it's enough to tell how much proficiency they've in firearms
But he is advocating for assault rifles to be given to civilians, and I'm pretty sure he would like them to be easily accessible.

I think he is worried about voilance and crime hikes when indian get abundance of gun same in India as american have

I get your point but

I believe what @Ayan Barat wants to say is where now with so many hicup to get even ww1 era revolver you have to go through so much so solution most of the firearms with millitant , gangster and illegal element have illegally imported weapons in up in encounter turkish handguns were recovered

with khalistan AK were recovered all are smuggled in India

I know that @Ayan Barat is not advocating for US like laws, and I do support him advocating for less stringent, more faster and streamlined process of acquiring fire arms( limited to SMLE's, shotguns, handgun).

But the guy I was replying to before was talking about allowing assault rifles to civilians and @Ayan Barat saw my reply but did not see the message of the guy I was replying.

I would like some kind of relaxation in ownership of Arms or atleast making the process of obtaining a license simpler and easier. Also, allow more Arms company to offer pistols/revolvers/mousers for private ownership instead of the OFB crap people have to buy.

AFAIK from my memories of dfi @Mangal is a right to arms advocate, and he justifies it unconditionally.
Yes I firmly believe that people should be able to bear small arms to protect themselves . I don't support AKs and M4 being sold at shopping malls. I hope have made myself clear.

Yeah, but "insanely heavy" would be bit of a stretch here.

• AN/PSQ-23, laser rangefinder and aiming laser - 0.635kg
• PLx 1-8x-24mm, LPVO - 0.480kg
• Barrett BORS, ballistic calculator - 0.370kg
Mount everything on a rifle and that's 1.485kg

Though it isn't known but people who have used XM-157 claim it to be around 1.5kg. Also among all the various so called "smart sights" from XM-29 to FELIN to TrackingPoint; this one's perhaps the most refined and practical. Somehow add a thermal overlay (something we're already seeing in more and more holographic sights) without significant increase in weight and you'd have a F-35 level of tech in firearms.

Only best thing i consider which came out from this program is pretty much this optic
You get 1-8x lpvo
Aiming laser and laser rangefinder
Ballistic calculator operator doesn't have to do much work now
As you said thermal overlay will only make it more useful
But still close to 10k for this
And considering rifle is there are lot of thing wrong
Imagine doing room intervention in Ukraine with xm7 clearing trenches

For mountain warfare it is op

All such """law abiding citizens""" would tomorrow join some retarded rebel group based on muh jaat, language, caste etc.

There are also many """"citizens"""" also coming from across the fence, getting aadhar and voter id easily, such """"citizens"""" may also pass all BaCkGrOuNd ChEcKS and become legal owners of 3-4 AKs

No use peddling your Burger arguments here, when even said Burgers get massacred with some psycho with AR-15 irrespective of their 2nd amendment. :bplease:

Your arguments are on the lines of "Lets legalize drugs since nashedis obtain their wares anyway" many such derivatives can be made of "let's legalize x since y happens anyway".
I have the same based belief as you when it comes to gun laws.

I do agree that it WOULD HAVE BEEN good to have gun laws like the US to increase Average Indian Civilians familiarity with Weapons and Closeness with Necessary Violence and Force.

BUT i wont want it at this stage of development and in an insufficiently culturally and ethnically homogenized county like India. Until we turn into an indivisible soup of mostly culturally similar and ethnically indistinguishable mixed block(Which we can turn into with the application and persistence of development for some decades and the movement of people intra-nation).

The gun laws of America is for a relatively HIGH HOMOGENEOUS CULTURE, ETHNICITY AND VISION societies.
