Indian Football is cooked. The teams which were in the similar ranking with us have started to qualify for WC and improved their rankings and we have fallen way behind.
We really need a team like 1983 Indian cricket team. Who endured all the hardship and won the Cricket WC and inspired many others and now we are a beast in cricket. We really need someone like kapil dev and Sunil gavasakr in Indian football to inspire us.
We need a team which will qualify and play at least one World cup that's it. Qualification for fifa world cup will remove any mental blocks and instill confidence in us. Even IF we don't win, it will inspire many youngsters. And if we cannot qualify for WC we have to start dominating in asia and try to win AFC.

I also must say GOV should seriously look into improving Indian football. If properly guided and supported by GOV it will become popular and ISL can become as famous as IPL and even surpass it.
Point is something has to be done now. Talent and money is not the problem, proper and sustained management is needed and guidance is required now. Lethargy and "chalt hain" attitude must be uprooted.

Ignore the clickbait title. Raises many valid points.

Whats the issue with indian football?? Association full of dumbs or politics or what?
Coz football is super popular among students and kids in school in metro cities, like 2x 3x than cricket.
Why isnt it performing?

It's a total shit show with Indian Football and I feel like we Indians no longer understand the game of Football at all.

One of the biggest problem is the absence of a cohesive tactical identity. Players would abandon structured play of short passes after the opening 5-10 minutes. What starts as a passing game quickly devolves into individual runs toward the goal, with each player seemingly trying to be the hero. This "every man a striker" mentality leads to:
  • Poor decision-making in the final third
  • Missed opportunities due to lack of coordination
  • A breakdown in midfield control
Players suffers from Sunney Deol Syndrome where everyone try to score by themselves and act like Sunny Deol uprooting a handpump in Gadar.

Even when players do reach the opposition box, composure vanishes. Instead of calculated finishes, we see wild, powerful shots that miss the target entirely. There is:
  • lack of training in situational awareness
  • Poor shooting technique under pressure
  • Absence of a clinical striker’s mindset

i don't know much about indian football but when i see them playing they run so fkking slow for some reason. never saw such pace in any other international event.

We should spend a bit more on coaches and technical staff so players get to know where they lack and how they reach the optimum level. Currently football is dominated by mumbai, south, north east and west bengal. Proper talent acquisition is missing.

And all the aiff drama happening since decades how can we expect football to grow

Without purging AIFF, we are not going to do jackshit in Football, our ranking will fumble down even more. No Football pyramid still now, FDSL/Reliance saving themselves with ISL. I-League went into Controversy this year with Churchil Brothers and Inter Kashi, where AIFF looks so much incompetent to deal the issue. Just directionless competitions, lack of International matches to gauge the strength.

Top of that half the clubs were playing in random stadiums. Punjab Matches in New Delhi, Inter Kashi (A team based on Varanasi) is playing in West bengal. So called Bengal clubs and their politics. Shit tier stadium expericence. Those Atheletics ground viewing experience were shit. Need dedicated Footy stadiums.

Buffoons in AIFF were full blown corrupt folks.

indian mma died even before it started, anshul jubli lost 2 fights in a shameful way to 2 noobs, and he was trash talking about how he and khabib are at same level. i had high hopes from his ground game and some striking but mf is all talks, failed brutally in ufc.

There is no proper training in India for MMA. These novice train in some gym and start thinking they are at level of Khabib. Khabib comes from an area where there whole generation is training for MMA. They are different plane altogether.

delhi, mumbai, bangalore has pretty good mma training, they train you in wrestling, grappling, bjj, and striking ( boxing/ kickboxing ). main issue is advanced training, for striking, many of our fighters go to bali or thailand, 1-2 even went to europe and amreeka. but the thing is that we have wrestling olympic medalists, boxing olympic medalists, why dont we combine these and train them for cardio and maybe we can have an indian champion in ufc by 2040.

They are making fool of Indians in name of MMA Training. The training they provide is mostly joke compared to what is actually required to become a serious contender for MMA leagues.

there was one fighter in mfn, shyamanand, at that time his record was 4-1, his aggressive striking and fighting style, rooted to culture made me a big fan, but idk how he went downhill, almost all the indian fighters went downhill, road to ufc me angad bisht bhi 2nd round me haar gaya, he had a pretty good record. road to ufc bhi pata nahi kahan se indian fighters uthata hai. sanjeet budhwar should have tried for last years featherweight, now idts he can reach ufc, age would affect him. i hope shyamanand makes a comeback and reaches ufc within 3-4 years. indian women fighters are complete dogshit.

There is no incentive to train in MMA. A freestyle wrestler can bag some medals at worlds/Olympics/Asiads and he/she will be set for life - these guys dream of medalling at the Olympics/worlds; UFC is not even in their calculation. There is a reason why Sushil rejected UFC's offers back in the day.

Only failed C category wrestlers would move to MMA - else, the risks aren't worth it.
