Vande Bharat

Still our tracks are not supporting speed. vande bharat not running at speed which are meant to be , avaerga should be around 100 km/hr.

I dont know govt have any understanding about bullet train and its purpose. Its simple purpose is to cover long distance in few hours. Right now travel from delhi to south require > 30 hrs in train and only alternative is air way. Here where the bullet trains comes , govt need to align bullet train from Delhi to south and Mumbai to north east side.

I dont know how Mumbai/Ahmedabad suits bullet train, what is meant for.

It takes time for the rest of the system to catch up but catch up they will.

Don’t they have a fold up cover for the front end to make it more aerodynamic streamlined or is it because of cows and other stray animals they have to put a cow catcher at the front?

Aerodynamics don't give any edge at this operating speed of 160 KMPH. Heck we can run this design at even 250Kmph. Anything over 300 Kmph we need to design the trainset aerodynamic.

Meanwhile I wish to see retractable couplers being implemented in VB trainsets. Currently it is old school remove the cover and couple it.

Not true. Have you ever tried applying it while driving a car ? In my case it actually works. Have tested my fuel consumption with Windows Open-AC off, Windows Closed-AC on and Windows closed-AC off. The fuel consumption was highest in first case and lowest in the last.
Also high speed(120-130)handling was worst in first case

Ya'll It's electric, IR purchases electricity at higher rate than consumers, only recently they striked deal with Ratnagiri Gas and Power at moderated rate, aero dynamic is least concern of them.

VB's were fully air conditioned Trainsets, so the drag is nearly zero compared to an regular Non AC LHB Coaches.

The discussion is regarding the doubt @Blademaster ji, whether we need pointy tip of blunt tip. I am saying there is no significant difference gained by using pointy tip.

If you are having futher confusion we can discuss, we will not hurt you.

Same is applicable even if you replace ICE with an Electric motor. Power consumption is going to be more when grag is increased.

Difference in power consumption may not be that significant (which I disagree) but on handling and stability certainly will be significant

Stability and handling on an trainset?

Single compartment weighs 25 Tonnes and no way the aerodynamic forces will create such a lift force. Trainsets don't going to handle like a car or bike. Better track upgrade like CWT, straightening up the curves will give good high speed journey.

Currently Tejas Rajdhani, Gatimaan hit 160 kmph from Tughlakabad Junction to Agra Junction and they are not aerodynamic in any way compared to the BHEL/Titagarh one.

Well I gotta say that front end certainly mars the look of Vande Bharat.
