My only doubt with this design is the missiles in the middle of the deck don't seem to be . Won't they be too big to place in middle? Either it is NASM-MR or GlideFire but even if it comes out to then also no issue.

Now that our Frigates are pushing 7000t & Corvettes racing at 5000t maximum edges for their classes, it's not surprising that NGMVs are essentially 1500-2500t "Cutter" class vessels, not the classic Missile boats.

Maybe we could have proper 500t stealth missile-boats carrying LR-ATGM & MLRS for hit & run attacks.

This one looks like Saryu class only, where did you get these?

I don't get this NGOPV bullshit. Why does a ship-starved Navy like ours have (semi)unarmed ships?.. Especially when the design can apparently hold & there's a 30m shorter & 1000t lighter version that can serve as missile-cutter readily available!


Even the 2300t OPV platform will perfectly replace the old ones...

Let Coastguard keep the NGOPV as befits their role.
Even Sachi class design would be fine, lotta space in the rear for some VLS

The current configuration of the NMGV based on the renders looks very similar to a Khukri Class missile boat/ corvette equipped with BrahMos instead of the P15/P20M missile.

Sensors :

• BEL - Naval X-Band Multi Function Radar (X-BMFR) : Primary AESA radar and VL-SRSAM (FFBNW)

• EL/M-2221 STGR fire-control radar - Fire control radar for 76mm SRGM and AK 630 CIWS

• Bomber Electronic warfare (EW) suites - BEL Ajanta M2 ESM

Exactly but according to the new poster from the metal cutting video it looks like they are going to carry 4 (replacing the styx on kukri class)

See how similar it looks to kukri class

Styx weight 2.5 tonnes so it nearly similar in weight to brahmos thus not impacting the balance of new ship too much

Thus we can take a guess that ngmv is just an evolved kukri class with better air defence and land attack capabilities

And newer electronics and new main radar (vlsrsam one)
