This strategy of demonstrating strength later is not something I think the government can even demonstrate later?? If India today cannot do much to smaller neighbors even maldives etc Do you think a gutless government will do something in the future?? I have my doubts? Look at a country like Iran being sanctioned for decades and not giving an inch to their enemies. That is something you don't do later? IMO.

Yes, this is the reason the US needs to be handled carefully and treated differently from rest of its pignat slaves. Even Cheenis had a lot of issues with the Falun gong movement protestors and 1989 tianenmen square protests, but still didn't go ahead with assassinations on US soil.

Sometimes you have no option but to take the blows(temporarily), bide your time until you get stronger and then retaliate when the power differential becomes lower.

btw for this I agree, there is no evidence they will demonstrate strength in the future.
However now having a panga with US won't bring us anything good, we don't have much leverage on them unlike the Chinese, we need the investment and ToT that only US and vassals can provide.

But what happened to Iran. It is a North korea style pariah state that is now hated by everyone else in the middle east. Severe hyperinflation with an economy in doldrums. It's somehow ekeing out a survival based off of its tremendous oil wealth, otherwise it would've collapsed by now.

Unlike eye-ran, we've no oil or fossil fuel wealth and are very much dependent on foreign trade and tech transfer. We have to pick and choose our fights.

Let me put it a different way . We don't have to become an extreme pariah state. Look at a country
like Hungary it is in EU and NATO and it has been completely vocal about opposing Ukraine war.
We have not gone past the colonial mindset , culturally we have been poisoned by a destructive
Gandhi philosophy that has weakened generations of Indians. It is similar to when US dropped a
nuke on Japan in ww2 it destroyed them and made them subservient to the west and everything
they were told by USA afterwards.
