AMCA - Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft

Overheard conversation between two birdies on current state of AMCA

# Detailed design of AMCA is almost complete
# Engineers from Three letter listed company which is part of Four Letter Conglomerate are deployed on contract for detailed design / engineering
# But Manufacturing drawings are very much overdue and all related tasks are on "Hold" as "Work-share" contract between ADA and HAL is pending and yet to be formalized

They released some CAD earlier, not very good resolution. They should give update on it.

MoD will sit on the proposal & then IAF will go to town abusing HAL. That's how the story is supposed to pan out . I thought we saw these shenanigans during the UPA rule which is the reason the BJP was voted to power.

I notice various reports of countries being interested in buying the 5G- KF-21 (Philippines, Saudi Arabia), 5G KAAN (Azerbaijan, Pakistan. UAE) but no reports of any countries being interested in 5G AMCA. Why do no countries appear to be interested in AMCA? Is it simply because it is still being designed (at least the production version, I gather) and will not be available to export customers for a long, long time?

On another forum, talking about the report of US blocking a Gripen E sale to Colombia, one of their posters maintained that the GE F414 was an extremely advanced engine. I wonder if the US would allow India to export Tejas Mk2, AMCA Mk1.

I cannot guarantee factual accuracy but if I can get the poster's permission, I will post what he said about the F414 engine..

Both of these prototypes are flying irrespective their claimed abilities. Ours is still on the drawing board. Countries tend to be more curious once they've something tangible to consider.

At the moment our concerns are restricted to getting those damn prototypes to fly & be certified , followed by quick production to meet our own needs. I can assure you any Indian on this forum or anywhere else thinking of exporting these Fighter Aircrafts as of today hasn't got his priorities right . They're putting the proverbial cart before the horse.

S. Korea being Western ally is getting support for KF-21 by other Western friendly nations from cultural or business PoV.
Turkey being Islamic nation is getting support for Kaan by other Islamic nations.
🤷‍♂️
We dont take sides in wars, prefer non-allignment.
We have diplomacy with many nations but we'll never have any ally, culturally or militarily, at least in this century, & having a nation potentially good in R&D &/or industrially trustworthy, for a 5gen jet's colaboration or purchase is tough to find currently. They all will also have to say NO to USA's F-35, Russia's Su-57, Su-75, China's J-31/35.
Now which S.American, African, Asian nations can do that?

Ye sab arguments ko chod ke there's one more factor

Both countries want someone else to heft the development kharcha apart from themselves, so you can imagine lots of salesman-giri is done of the KAANa and KF-21

Koreans already "scored" Indonesia as a partner, but later they found out Indonesia isn't forking out the $$$ and stealing the tech so now looking for another partner.

Turkans now hovering around Saudiyaa, Malaysia is too middle class and Pakistan is kangaal af so...

It's basically the same scam Ruskals pulled on us with Su-57/FGFA

I mean it's not as if our Govt is some Ambani with wealth and Daan-veer Karan in terms of allocating generous budget but this is another element, we for now are not looking for some else to fund our 5th gen development

Doesn't matter, by the time AMCA takes first flight the Chings and Americans will have 7th gen AI fighter jet drones firing lasers.

As i've said in other threads, it's a science project, like Tejas or MWF doesn't have any real world takers.
