Chinese Economy Watch

From the pictures you've uploaded it seems more like remotely driven vehicles instead of autonomous driving. And what's this about 1 security personnel watching over 3 taxis ?

I mean is this the reason CCP is encouraging literacy for all especially emphasising STEM education ? You get a guy to graduate in robotics & give him a job driving taxis remotely or monitoring them ? Is this supposed to be a joke ? Coz it seems one by the looks of it & it's a sick joke.

Back office, according to government guidance, 3 driverless taxis need one security guy watched from backend, and has totally control ability in case of emergency.

It in fact creates new jobs.

Without best 5G networks, it won't happen.

Those security guys mostly from ex-taxi drivers not IT engineers.

Half Chinese driving schools already using it for entry level training, and it would accumulate some driving hours among the final scores.

mmexport1720771831335.jpg

It's staging process as any complicated IT project. Two yrs ago when it's on trial, there were security guy inside driverless car.

mmexport1720771335641.jpg

After time passes, AI getting smarter and smarter, the ratio betwen remote security guy to driverless taxis would ne 1:5, 1:20, will reduce transportation cost more and more.

Maybe to you, It's still a joke, check this and comments from this twitter.

i dislike the robotaxis from whatever country or brand, first they are designed to control anyone, lock you up easily, and do not fix traffic jams.

Some points after i tried it:

1. 50% cheaper, 6km around 1USD, the normal taxi was 3USD, since it no need to pay salary.

2. Clean, a driver stayed in a taxi for days, the taxi was always not good smell.

3. Pass through remote area during night, drivless is saf`er than drivers for female.

4. Serve people in short distance or remote areas, which drivers unhappy to go

5. It runs 24*7, night serivce is not covered in some areas of city as normal taxi.

Frankly I wonder why does one need a security guy monitoring 3 taxis when there's no one in the taxi except for a passenger ? What exactly is the job of the security guy ?

Yes & Gadkari's right , we don't need autonomous driving or as in your case remote driving masquerading as autonomous driving as we don't have TFR approaching 1 as it is in your case.

We need as many jobs as possible which is the reason we don't see any merit in autonomous driving / remotely driven vehicles.

Moreover in the west the transportation companies pay a small fortune for drivers especially on long distance routes. I don't think the same is true for China. You're doing whatever it is you're doing only blindly copying the west as you've been doing ever since the PRC was established.

We'd consider autonomous driving / remote driving when our TFR starts plummeting which is a long way ahead.

Moreover this thread is about China . What's an Indian minister's comments on it got to do with the Chinese economy ? You feel the urge to quote Gadkari , do it in the thread on the Indian Economy.

Don't blame us next time if we start uploading data bringing up comparisons between India & China later.

If needed, securirty guy have ability to takeover the taxi and speak to passengerr or traffic police.

In software engneering, there is a term called "corner case". Accidents, passenger got sick inside, hardware failures ... The more AI studies, less corner case, then less security guy.

Actually, the government is carefully building the industry. It asked the company must have1:3 ratio to security guys. It asked company only run small amount of robotaxi, it asked some hot and most profitable areas are no go zone for robotaxi and reserved to human taxi drivers.

You have new tool, then you have more ways to manage ur city works better.

you have there two types of Mexicans; the European and mongoloid types, so relax you do not hate mexicans you hate been corrected, we are humans but humans are proud and arrogant all we are up to some degree.

Any way the mongoloid looking Mexicans are more related to Siberians and central asians, and perhaps the Ainu from Japan rather than to Chinese, but still still mongoloid.

In Plaza Mart, located at 89 José María Izazaga Street, in CDMX thousands of Chinese products are sold that enter the country as smuggled

But you say there is no dumping of Chinese products nor overproduction basically this shows how desperate is CCP instead of allowing deflation and even a better life standard of living for Chinese citizens; CCP still wants Dollars an even Mexican Pesos

"DOJ charges former Apple employee with theft of autonomous car tech for China"

View: https://youtu.be/zhnIruPa0XI

Congratulations @rockdog

This is how MSS ought to run operations. Not that Xu Yanjun amateur stuff. This is how you get even with the gwailou.

This way you can always market your autonomously driven EV in the west as "inspired by Apple " . People there will get the idea.

You see if you were to advertise your autonomously driven EV as developed entirely in China take my word for it you'd not sell a single piece.

This way you've fool proof tried & tested technology from the very best plus you have marketing & more importantly boasting rights as well .

Congratulations once more.

do not tell me now you hate to see indonesian things you did not like an euro-mexican entering the Intel design center of Guadalajara where they design Chips but probably you will not like this either:

On June 28, Indonesian Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan announced that Indonesia will impose safeguard tariffs of 100% to 200% on imported products ranging from footwear to ceramics, reinitiating plans to protect domestic industries. This policy will take effect immediately once the relevant regulations are issued.

You should admmit the oversupply and trade war is forcing China to dump products in emerging markets but those markets can also take measures such as tariffs or the chinese owned smuggled TEMU products shop that mexican authorities closed indefinitely in Mexico city and the brothel and drug center owned by Chinese also closed and the chinese arrested by Mexican authorities.

China's foreign trade reaches new high in H1

(Xinhua) 13:01, July 12, 2024
BEIJING, July 12 (Xinhua) -- China's foreign trade reached a new high in the first half (H1) of this year, providing more momentum for the economic recovery, official data showed Friday.

The goods trade volume expanded 6.1 percent year on year to 21.17 trillion yuan (about 2.97 trillion U.S. dollars) in the January-June period, according to the General Administration of Customs. Exports rose 6.9 percent, while imports climbed 5.2 percent.

The positive trend of foreign trade has been further consolidated, analysts said.

In the second quarter, the imports and exports in total gained 7.4 percent compared to a year earlier, also notably higher than the 4.9 percent increase in the first quarter of this year and 1.7 percent the fourth quarter of last year.

$100 biliions trade surplus in June, just one month!

Oil import down due to booming EV and solar industry.

Food import down, due to import from Russia with cheap price.

Chip import down, due to local supply chain mastering most chips.

Congratulations !

It's when import of oil reaches ~ < 20% of present capacities , China'd prepare to launch its invasion of Taiwan which I expect to happen around 2030 .

Your period of enjoying trade surpluses will last till around 2027. How come ? - you'd ask . It's like this - your exports are killing businesses left right & centre in developed , developing & poorer nations. It's unsustainable in the long run ruining societies & nations.

Hence tariffs & more tariffs against all Chinese goods whether mfgd in China or in ASEAN nations will be the end goal. What impact that'd have on China remains to be seen .

I think you have no comprehensions of the news since you do not connect dots.

Is China exporting more? yes China is exporting more, why do you think Indonesia set the Tariffs?
or why do you Think Mexico or Brasil are setting steel tarifss or in Mexico city they close an entire building full of Chinese merchandise?

why tell me?

Of course you do not want to see the reality as China exports more, more tariffs emerge because over supply means local production in emerging markets need to protect small and medium size business
Of course, your puppet masters can not let you admitt that.

China has set a system of smuggling chinese merchandise via internet vendors, but what do you think is happening? simple in Mexico detected that in Izazaga street in Mexico city and direct action was taken.

1720846599066.png
The double closure of Izazaga 89, the Chinese wholesale store
Four months after they suspended activities to investigate the sale of illegally imported items, the doors of the property have been closed again due to practices carried out without permits.
More than 11 closure seals,
almost 40 public servants from the Administrative Verification Institute (INVEA) and more than 95 officials from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC). Plaza Mart or Centro Mart, a famous place in the Centro neighborhood of Mexico City, known for selling items of Chinese origin wholesale and at quite low prices, was closed this Thursday, July 11, by INVEA “because they do not have the corresponding documentation to prove the work they do,” according to an information card.
Mexico agreed to have its main trading partner, the United States, impose tariffs under a couple of conditions, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Thursday morning. On Wednesday, the White House announced that it would charge Mexico a 10% tariff on aluminum and a 25% tariff on steel if the raw material is not of Mexican origin. Mexico accepted the tariffs on the condition that no specific countries be singled out in the resolution and that “special treatment” be given to metals from Brazil.

The imposition by the United States implies that Mexico would pay tariffs despite having a trade agreement, the USMCA. In its statement, the White House reported that it ordered, in addition to the 25% tariff on steel that does not originate in Mexico, that the country will have to pay a 10% tariff on aluminum products that have been cast or molded in China, Russia, Belarus or Iran.
1720847627147.png

So yes China is exporting more but the reaction is tariffs and clousures

It is expected to begin production at the end of 2026 and create about 5,000 jobs. The pact comes as Warren Buffett-backed BYD, the world’s second-largest EV maker after Tesla, looks to tap the large EU market at a time when Brussels is clamping down on access for cars imported from China. BYD is also building a plant in Hungary that will begin production next year and is considering a second plant in that country.Europe is finalising higher tariffs on China-made EVs to protect local carmakers. BYD will face a total tariff rate of 27.4 per cent on EVs imported from China. Ankara has also taken steps to defend domestic car manufacturers, recently imposing an additional 40 per cent tariff on all Chinese vehicle imports.Turkey has a large automotive industry, with foreign groups including Hyundai, Toyota, Renault and Ford operating in the country, often through joint ventures. Automakers produced about 1.5mn vehicles in Turkey last year, according to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association. The country’s primary export market is the EU.Turkey is part of the EU’s Customs Union, meaning vehicles can be exported to the bloc without additional duties.Analysts at UBS said local production in Europe was always a “possible consequence” of EU tariffs. “BYD is already investing in a plant in Hungary for that reason,” they said, adding that Chinese cars produced in eastern Europe still have a roughly 25 per cent cost advantage over cars made by their big European rivals.Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Turkey’s industry minister, said on Monday the BYD deal was a sign of the country’s “potential to be not only a centre for international investments, but also a centre for innovation and advanced green technology”. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and BYD founder Wang Chuanfu attended a signing ceremony unveiling the deal in Istanbul on Monday, according to Turkish state media.Kacır added that Turkey was in “intensive talks” with other automakers in Europe and Asia about investment, at a time when Ankara is seeking to attract foreign capital to give impetus to sweeping economic reforms.BYD did not respond to requests for comment on the deal or the structure of its investment. The new plant would be capable of making electric and hybrid vehicles, and include a research and development centre, Turkey said.RecommendedGönül TolDon’t cut Turkey out of European defence efforts because of Erdoğan Analysts pointed to the investment as evidence that Chinese automakers are looking to adapt their strategies to avoid protectionist measures. In a sign of Turkey’s EV ambitions, Erdoğan last September asked Elon Musk to build a Tesla factory in Turkey. The country is also developing its own EV through a state-backed project.BYD’s top executive in Europe told the FT’s Future of the Car Summit in May that the company was looking to increase local production in its target markets: “To ship cars from China to Europe is not going to be long term. The long term is to produce locally,” Michael Shu said.
