Assar Doda encounter:Updated -Security forces are tracking 3 injured trts.Meanwhile-Cpt Deepak sustained injuries when he was leading patrol twrds hiding trts on Tuesday night and kept “engaging trts in a firefight twice in the night”. The militants were hiding in a riverine.
@mist_consecutive @Airborne22
Capt Deepak was no 3 in assault team..first two being scouts..everyone knows in the world that no 3 is the highest ranking guy specially in British system.

Why to take these risks?

1) Zero intelligence network on the ground. All intelligence money eaten up by UN Generals. All informers killed in encounter to obtain medals. All existing intelligence machinary working collecting intelligence on fellow colleagues for personal vengeance.

This is the most important point in whole thread.

They want information for free or by threatening, typical thulla harkatein. This is why Kashmiris do not support.Forget Kashmir just go to make your passport in UP or Delhi bina paisa khaye koi kaam nahi hota boss.

Inko information kon dega.

People are not happy and do not want to provide information because of the policia attitude. Only handful are really professional. Baki sab kabaad bhara hua hai.

Is oue situation and circumstances unique to us.
This terrain, the demographic, the Ideology of militants and the neighborhood country is this unique to us?
Suppsoe had this been other counties militaries in our shoes, would they have done any better?

Perhaps 1:5 or 1:6 kill ratio is the optimum for these circumstances?

There are so many who do not want to be posted in Kashmir and North East, jacks lagatey rehte hai. 80% time postings and transfer arrange karney mein nikal jata hai. In other countries this does not happen they are professional.

What you want to hear?? News must be no different from previous days.

Jihadi scaped and foot soldiers have suffered the casualties.

UN Generals will sing usual monologue like Jai Hind, will not forget blah blah....later will use these opportunities for more import.

Real issues are which I highlighted long ago.

1) Zero intelligence network on the ground. All intelligence money eaten up by UN Generals. All informers killed in encounter to obtain medals. All existing intelligence machinary working collecting intelligence on fellow colleagues for personal vengeance.

2) America (whom Brown Sipoy praise day and night) left highly sophisticated weapons in Afghanistan including night vision goggles. These weapons were left for purpose. Now that purpose is visible.

3) Zero upgrade about soldiers gear and weapons. Our Soldiers are as equipped as Third grade militia in Africa.

4) Arrogant UN Generals don't want to buy UAV ( Reason only known to them ). UN Generals not buying TAPAS just because it fly 621 meter less what UN generals are asking for. I don't know what difference will it make?

Dumb fans of UN Generals start regurgitating same words without understanding these tailored requirements are made to help import.

5) LCH is perfect machine for such situation but they don't use. Though they have taken it trials even Mars but don't want to use it in J&K.

6) We are destined to hear unpleasant news on daily basis. Because India is a country where ass licking makes you successful person meanwhile Hard work will make your life hard.

Tu firse start ho gya ?

No intelligence money or informers killed. They just became obsolete as terrorism in Jammu died down. Your accusations are vile and corrupt.

We knew it since America's hasty pullback in Afghanistan. Its not that we are the only sufferers.

I will show you the difference it will make.

This is Heron UAV hovering at 32k feet consistently over Himalayas where mountains are average height of 16k feet. A UAV flying at 27k feet (not consistently) like Tapas is in MANPAD range, as well has diminised LoS due to blocking mountains to enemy territory.

LCH orders are already placed. If needed we can use Rudra gunships as well. We don't because of the same reasons we can't use drones in thick forest.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your accusations are vile and toes the line of our enemies. You have zero technical or strategic understanding and you only peddle your communist ideology. The misinformation you are spreading even after repeated warnings is jeopardising the sanctinity of this forum and poisoning the minds of young defence enthusiasts.

I tolerated you long enough in the name of free speech, but only opinion accusation you provide is how bad everything Armed Forces is.

I don't see why you should remain on a bharat defence forum if you hate bharatiya sena so much. Hence, I am banning you.

Technically FLIR can look through foliage right? or is it that dense up there that even a FLIR mounted on a Rudra would fail?

1:5 to 1:6 kill ratio was the standard back in early 2000s.

You also have to understand lill ratio doesn’t tell the whole story. Kill ratio includeS ALL forces including JKP and CRPF and BSF who aren’t trained to deal with insurgencies.

For the Indian army alone, the kill ratio should be and always has been from 5-7:1 as indian soldiers arwnt using any significant firepower like US in Afg or Iraq.

As for your question, i doubt it.

Taliban had a postive kd ratio against combined U.S. and Afg forces.

Russians barely have a 2:1 kd ratio against militants who are poorer trained (bare in mind we are in a proxy war facing hardcore operatives)

Lashkar has faced US in Afg and overran them in Wanaat 200

US chickened out of UNSOM as it failed to hold itself in infantry predominant environment, and only their SOF could achieve any noticeable success.

We are doing decent in comparison to others but as indians we need to hold ourselves to high standards

  • Terrain - Dense, thick hilly temperate rainforest.
  • Demography - Hostile to semi-hostile.
  • Ideology - Islam (highest motivation).
  • Warfare type - Guerrila.
The closest example I can think of is - Vietnam ? Myanmar rebels ?
