You think that F404 deliveries will never materialise? I think that would create big problems for IAF and HAL plus all in the Mk1A supply chain. That would only happen for US-India political reasons IMO and begs the question: how could India change its relationship with the US for the better? Let's not forget that India has an acute need for F404 supplies while the US does not have an acute need to supply them.

They delivered Chinook and apache in record time so there's no issue of competency in burgerican military industrial complex.
In this financial year they will be delivering only 2 f404 engine out of 20 promised.
Sience we are purchasing more than 100 this doesn't make any sense, such Production issue never occurred when they made engines for korea

Is the delay in delivery due to a problem with US-India relations? If it is, in terms of securing Mk1A production it is up to India to do what is required to improve relations: zero Mk1A production or miniscule production has no effect on the US. It has a big effect on India.

If India does not want to take actions required to improve relations with the US (and that is why F404 deliveries are delayed), as suggested by many, including me (for a long time)

- buy used M2K
- get Kaveri done

Otherwise it looks like IAF will get no additional fighters for years apart from the Mk1A that come off the assembly line.

Theres a global titanium shortage ig.
More importantly, SK already had a production plant of f404 engines in their own country. They werent produced but rather assembled iirc. (Some parts produced)
Anyhow, this means they already had engine assembly kits so it would have been faster for them to get their engines, as compared to India which didnt have such a history of buying f404 engines like SK did.

From what I understand local production of a foreign product takes longer than importing the product directly.
 
Whole jammu is echoing with the roars of mig 29s. I don't know why they are here since we only have a civilian airport but I'm totally up for it lmao.. feels like our windows are gonna break. If I remember, mig 29s are stationed in kashmir right? (Replacing mig21) could be an airshow or something

Yeah It's quite unusual. Last year they only did a low fly over jammu airport as they flew towards kargil for vijay diwas celebrations. They have been circling the whole city and doing low-flies over neighbourhoods today. I guess we got a free airshow kek. Maybe there's an airshow at udhampur AFB ?

Yeah I saw them encircling our city multiple times.. used my telescope to keep an eye on one of them once and they were literally flying supersonic on low level lmfao.. Ultimately went towards the airport and pulled a vertical Charlie then vanished after giving some of that premium rd33 black smoke..
