About J20, it's a decent LO Air superiority fighter, IG.
Size is Inconsequential if you can mask your radar return to the required extent, so is manoeuvrability.
In the case of a J20, it was designed to be a long-range sniper, and that's what it is. (Lack of Gun goes to show what Chinkis had in mind when creating it)
Canards of J20 make such an angle that it reflects the radar waves away, its belly is smoother than F-35, one could call its belly underwhelming compared to F-35.
Engines' nozzles are serrated to minimise radar returns, Canards are serrated(IIRC, not sure about canard serration)
Modern fighters can control the angle of their canards to reduce radar return
Though not as stealthy, it has the same order of RCS return as the F-35 at least in frontal aspect and has a larger(about 1800+ T/R module antenna) 3rd gen AESA(claimed by the Chinese) and should have a decent EW capability(there is no way that huge ass plane got no Integrated(Internal) EW suite/Active stealth capability
Also note that the median RCS is without RAM and all around, and not just frontal.

If you guys don’t know, the US often paints their aggressors to match the aircraft they are trying to mimic. So are you saying the Americans are soo impressed with the Su-57 they chose to train fighting against it with their previous gen tech..

Propaganda my ass. The US still simulates training against enemy 4.5gen like su-35, I’m not saying the Su-57 is complete utter garbage. It is however not up to the 5th gen standard. Just because they paint it in camo doesn’t mean it’s for only WVR training, those aircraft with those paint schemes participate in BVR and WVR training, and are put in the specific aggressor squadron for training. If they are performing WVR range for su-57 with hornet, they are using the hornet for BVR as well.lol...dude they themself ans this in their article.

mocking enemy aircrafts for different reasons by doing its paint jobs, doesnt mean they think its junk. if its junk, why u hv to do all these exercises etc for that junk fighter....this is mainly used for visual range fighting exercise for their pilots. not for beyond visual range fighting of stealth, otherwise no point in painting them. if their pilot cant see from them in a distance. it also proof they r not sure they can defeat su 57 in beyond visual range distance, so they r exercising for visual range fighting with su 57. stop ur propaganda.

. did anyone here is saying su57 is comparable with f35 or f22 raptor? atleast not on paper strength. do chinese j20 or j35 is comparable to f35 or f22 on paper? so why we need F35 level capable fighter (specially when we hv no option). american never provide us source code to integrate our missiles etc. even if they agreed they will not ready to integrate F35 with our other fighters (specially russian) or s400. that mean if we will using F35 on a operation, we hv to neither use our s400 or neither russian fighters. coz they can treat each other enemy assets.

we need limited su 57 (36-40 approx) to counter pakistan upcoming j35. coz we cant counter chinese 200-300 j20 with only some fighters. for that we hv to make AMCA in good numbers. but it will take its sweet time, so we r in hurry to buy a 5 genration fighter. even a half cooked 5 genration like su 57 is good enough to deal with chinese half cooked 5 genration like j20 or j35.
dont think in a 5 genration fighters fight only better stealth technology play its role. beside this sensors, jamming capabilities, bvr missiles quality, pilot capabilities, defensive mechanism like chaff/flair quality etc also play its rule for final result.
biggest advantage of buying su57 over f35 is its custom ability nd not interference from its buyer country. previously our IAF was planning to counter chinese aircrafts with rafale. if su 57 proof itself more capable than rafale to IAF, then they should definitely buy it.
america pampers pakistan time to time with IAF nd providing them money for different reasons. they r not trust worthy in case of pakistan. coz pakistan is their dog. which they can use against afganistan, iran nd india. so they will never want that pakistan get hardly kicked by indians.
fair enough....but still chinese didnt make a 5 genration engine for their j20 nd j35. so even its stealthy, its old engine hv no suppressors for engine heats. nd their radars can be not fully utilised its capability with less power with older copied chinese engines. if radar isnt that powerful, its stealth advantage of come closer to enemy fighters goes down (if enemy fighter hv capable radars nd infrared sensor/EOT).
Chinese have already compensated the absence of VCE to some extent by making their sixth gens Larger(more fuel storage equals more range) with higher thrust and electrical power (with extra engine).
