Like wot de foc - what has stealth actually done in terms of actual war performance to merit such panic ? Heck, Israel *HAS* F35s and they have not announced a SINGLE deep strike mission in Iran with their stealth jet and Iran has far shittier ADS on paper than Pakis.
Yes,stealth gives us more tools to play with, but our ADS is no joke and if nobody has used stealth against anyone with a mediocre ADS like Iran, why are we going 'omg omg' with Stealth ??
We need numbers first and foremost. Pump up the Squadron numbers to 40 or so with tejas 1&2 +Su-30 combos and only then worry about stealth as it comes online for us.
I am not exactly sure WTF we need stealth jets so bad for - we are not going to bomb Chengdu by air lanchedin next 50 years, if ever. At best it will be blow up Chinese military infrastructure 500km-1000km inside tibet. For that, we again launch from over our air space or Bhutan air space- which is our air space in combat scenario.
We are far more interested in busting stealth and neutralizing Stealth jets - which is not impossible on paper- than we are in getting stealth, fyi.
people who often go RCS signature crap forget, this isnt magic - you dont become invisible in all radio frequency spectrum. If you go stealth mode in VLF, you may just become even more visible in ELF because guess what - the funky shape you do actually doesnt deflect away or absorb the ELF frequencies. Sure, ELF is used for low resolution weather radar and stealth jets are invisible to active combat radar frequences on ground or air at VLF, but i am sure there are people much smarter than me trying to figure out or have already figured out how to make this simple EM frequency reality translate into spotting stealth jets.

About J20, it's a decent LO Air superiority fighter, IG.
Size is Inconsequential if you can mask your radar return to the required extent, so is manoeuvrability.
In the case of a J20, it was designed to be a long-range sniper, and that's what it is. (Lack of Gun goes to show what Chinkis had in mind when creating it)
Canards of J20 make such an angle that it reflects the radar waves away, its belly is smoother than F-35, one could call its belly underwhelming compared to F-35.
Engines' nozzles are serrated to minimise radar returns, Canards are serrated(IIRC, not sure about canard serration)
Modern fighters can control the angle of their canards to reduce radar return
Though not as stealthy, it has the same order of RCS return as the F-35 at least in frontal aspect and has a larger(about 1800+ T/R module antenna) 3rd gen AESA(claimed by the Chinese) and should have a decent EW capability(there is no way that huge ass plane got no Integrated(Internal) EW suite/Active stealth capability
Also note that the median RCS is without RAM and all around, and not just frontal.
