But then again there is no guarantee of government buying those stuff when there are so many options. And civilian drone industry is still not mature enough.

What all has been sacrificed just to force Govt to order a specific model of French jet?

It’s all internal sabotage......always has been. If you're sitting on a $15 billion budget (IAF) and still find yourself in such a pathetic position, then honestly, nothing can be done here. Period..........Just look at the numbers.......for the price of the last major fighter jet deal, nearly ₹59,000 crore, you could’ve bought around 140 Su-30MKIs at ₹450 crore apiece.......Sure, it’s not a perfect comparison different capabilities, different roles but it highlights how absurd the planning and priorities have been...........The problem isn't funding, it's the complete lack of strategic clarity, accountability, and execution.......... Decision-making is paralyzed, indigenous programs are suffocated, and imported "prestige buys" take precedence over actual capability building............ If this isn’t sabotage from within bureaucratic, procedural, and political then what is ?

Super Su-30MKI, equipped with the AL-41 engine and Indian avionics, can be ordered.

They could have but then someone, somewhere some top military officer, babu, or politician misses out on millions in kickbacks quietly parked in foreign accounts....... It’s never been about national interest, just personal gain wrapped in defence deals.

I don't often put pessimistic take but sometime I too think some IAF babooz have a corrupt import khor mindset. And there are similar minded MoD babooz as well. Nothing stops IAF babooz from declaring Tejas Mk1A & Mk2 after limited series production and induction as not good enough. "Maza nayi Aya" Wale drame. Then they will fly some odd 30 Mk1A and Mk2 respectively while asking for more imports..

Govt is only considering imports now because of literally dropping fighters and squadrons.
If we had a pipeline of 72 MKIs from 2019 they would be least bothered.

In effect the ultimate chindi govt has been forced to open it's wallet because the situation is that dire.

Won't be resolved, I can almost see the Orange Baboon placing export controls on GE engine export until "India doesn't import Big, Beautiful quantities of US Wheat, rice, soybean, pulses and milk"

The insistence on using only US or UK engines is a case of possible dalali in and of itself.

While they haven't increased the budget of ISRO for human space mission yet. I don't understand how they expect ISRO to do all of that with the same chindi budget.

I would prefer the C-390 from Embraer but since it can carry LT Zorawar

Were going up in class for replacement.

5 ton capacity avro, replaced by 9ton c295.

7.5 ton capacity an32 being replaced by 18-30 ton capacity mta.

And we need to go up in class, if we wish to sustain decent supplies in high altitude in case of war with China.

Yeah, also future awacs, ISTAR, even Current P8i can perform lots of function of EW planes.
What we need would be a comjam jet( with other multipurpose functions too, signit, elnit, relay node, command node etc)
