Indian Army Armored Vehicles

As a kid I had once asked a relative who is in the IA about a fictional tank from a game that could fire 8 atgms in one volley , if it is viable in real life . His response was .. well after firing those missile what is this vehicle going to do ? If the answer is nothing then it's useless . After that I always knew that the old namica will never see service in numbers. And this new design seems to me like IA officers think alike 🤷‍♂️

Won't that logic apply to every vehicle when it runs out of ammo? But what about the targets it will take out with those 8 atgms. Thats a pretty big dent in the enemy armor. Even if multiple missiles are needed to take down a target, that's still a big dent. If a column of these vehicles take down a bunch of their armor, thats basically breaking the enemy formation and giving our infantry the chance to push into enemy territory.

It does, and which is why dedicated missile carrier tank destroyers are such a rarity in contemporary armies.

When you think about it, each missile carrier is carrying millions of dollars worth of ATGMs, cannot quickly reload, has a limited number of missiles and is a lightly armoured vehicle whose success depends on speed, sensors, and surprise.

For the same money you could field a tank and 2 IFVs and achieve the same result, while maintaining a far higher sustainable and cheap firepower downrange thanks to the 120/105/125mm gun.

I Also saw that maybe the interior layout is taken from isuzu are psu screwdrivergiri
It's a D-Max underneath the armor too, same chassis and drivetrain.

So the Namica will not be inducted then? Why was the IA opinion not taken into consideration when namica was designed?

Army was the one to request 6 tubes instead of 8 on the turret. And then went down to 4. A pure ATGM carrier that has limited ammo, inability for fast reload on the field, and requires an ammo vehicle to shadow it, won't work on most of our theaters right now. Because IA REFUSES to use tracked ammunition replenishment vehicles to field-supply howitzers like the K-9 or ATGM carriers like NAMICA. So this is what we get, watered down requirements simply because Army doesn't want an extra element in it's logistical chain. That's why the watered down NAMICA will slowly be merged with the FRCV program, because we won't use ARVs to reload them on the field, and the ATGM carriers will sacrifice payload to make space for an autocannon to defend itself once it runs out of ammo fast and has to hightail it out of the combat zone, all the back to the nearest mobile FOB supplied by 8x8 trucks.

nahhhhhhh we can definatly do better than this for sure
We can’t, let them induct whatever they want just induct some armoured vehicles goddamit i couldn’t care less what company it is our troops dying,it will be made in India just induct them in good numbers.

With typical with every foreign arm imports it will definitely not be entirely made in India but parts and parcel.
And considering the instances with Russian arms deal and Sarkari PSU .we should not touch with even 100 feet pole .
