caste data enumerated in the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) of 2011 was fraught with “mistakes and inaccuracies”. The total number of castes according to the 1931 Census was 4,147 and the SECC compiled more than 46 lakh castes, sub-castes and names.

I think the census will focus on both castes and sub-castes, but the main attention will be on the major caste groups.

The real deal with the caste census is who gets to act first. If INDI comes to power, they’ll definitely use the caste census for reservations. NDA would try to get ahead and implement it first to score points for the 2029 elections.

They might use sub-castes to further break down reservations. For instance, in Haryana, they’re testing waters by splitting SC reservations into 10% for marginalized SCs and 10% for others.

Abrahamic faiths will also be counted in the census(let's make it more dirty) to try and win over some votes from their marginalized groups(but they won't get)

There is no other way they can assure their win in 2029 and have a clear majority.

Don't expect anything big anytime soon for BJP at centre. Expect BJP to refocus on state by state issues for the next 2-3 years. The signal i am getting is, BJP did the most epic sequence of big moves within six months of coming to power in 2019, in the history of the country. What happened ? Great josh and jigra and then...people forgot and ghanta.
Expect BJP to go ' ulta' this time, with big ticket moves set in the final 2 years of the term to try and harness the high better

Supreme court has already given them warning, no show of power on peaceful protestors. Case of misinformation can also be charged upon WB police for botched up investigation and tampering of evidence there after misguiding the people. As it has already been noticed by the Supreme Court.
