Indian Small Arms and Weapons

A TAR-21 is more comparable to AUG, Grot, MDR, FAMAS, VHS-2, SA80 and SAR21 than AR-15

An AR-15 is more comparable to an AK-74, INSAS, CAL, SIG 553 than SIG Sauer 716i.
And just like that asmi is more comparable to mpx than mpa defender.
If your goal is to have a gun that can fulfill similar role as an mpx you can you asmi.
Just like our forces use tar 21 to do similar role(assault rifle) as an ar15.
What you can't use to fulfill similar role of asmi, mpx,mp5, taurus t9 is mpa defender.

For general Indian market, red dot sights make no sense .
Coz most don't have the capability to actually zero their sights . There are no ranges and even if they manage to find some place they lack the training .

At the end they will be forced to point and shoot , it would just be a waste of money . Good solid irons with tritium night sights would be a lot more ideal .

Not only that, be able to zero sights at certain intervals like 100m, 200m , 300m etc.

There you go
General Indian market...make no sense.
• In 2018, a pink pants wearing BSP leader's son pulled out a gun at a girl after an argument...tbf, nothing abnormal. But people who are bit into weapons got the shocker of their life...

...because it looks cool.

Most of the people here get swayed more by gimmicks than function, because they don't have any real world experience of those functions due to stringent gun laws. So anything that adds more bells and whistles compared to your competition is good.

Gun laws are weird, how come 50AE is not in prohibited bore .
Saw this mod a lot in UP ,
When I was a kid I was awed by it but now it looks comical .

As an NRI when you return to India then under TR (transfer of residence) you can bring one weapon of permissible bore or type provided you hold a valid license for it. At time the customs they confiscate these weapons and the fun part is they are auctioned off or sold to the politicians and I guess the babus as well for very nominal prices and thats how a connected civilian gets a Desert Eagle in India.

@Ayan Barat What would be the dimensions of the ASMI (not prototype) inducted into service vs an MP9?

Possibly with overlay.
Do a comparison with the final production model 2024 for ASMI.

Why the heck this thing was not discussed!? This is groundbreaking.

Some 5-6 months ago we got the first polymer framed semi auto pistol from a PSU. Made by Gun & Shell Factory, it's been named Yasashwi - Sanskrit for fame that last for eternity

Chambered in .32ACP it has a high capacity magazine of 10 rounds. It look absolutely gorgeous and can easily compete with international pistols like Glock and SIG Sauer

And by the way yes; that Picatinny rail is totally fake and of absolutely no use, in case someone might be wondering

Reminds me of a Lorcin L32 (.32 ACP)

You didn't listen, do you.
Let me be blunt then

• ASMI would be the bulkiest and one of most hideous 9mm Pistol/SBR in US markets
• PDW has died, guns are now cheaper than ammo. Even then JVPC would be the crudest among all the competition. Imagine selling a Sten gun to a population that has tasted MPX
• There would be atleast 50 or so different ARs in USA that's either cheaper than SSS D or more refined
• ASTR pistol would face the blunt of US IPR laws as soon as they arrive there and if luckily it survives then it would be challenged by likes of Canik who provide better pistols at cheaper price
Why this itch in us to sell in the land of Unkil ! White approval much eh @randombully .
First sell to our own armed forces, improve QC, fix the problems, iterate, establish a reliable product, then look to export to maybe UAE, SE asia, Filipinos, Afreeka Latin Amreeka etc....further improve the product based on feedback from such diverse environs, then maybe if market research supports it you can try to crack your luck in the US. Still I would advise not to go there

Amrikis have the biggest civilian Market for firearms.
Selling to them will provide our companies with another market so that they won't entirely rely on the "hope" that army may induct their firearm.
