Bhai these things can save you upto an extent tourniquets max 2 hote hai ek bande pe (average) aur sirf limbs pe use ho skte hai pressure bandage bhi open gunshot wound pe directly apply krna hota hai chances to save yourself gets reduced the more injuries you have.

would love to see navy create a unit parallel to this , something that will provide support to Marcos teams ..

but time and again these requests of creating a naval infantry or marine corps has been denied.
MARCOS have been giving it's shore protection roles over to fedral units like in 2009 they help creat the Greek Crocodiles of BSF, they soon trained NSG in their own maritime operations, they trained other organizations including the coast gaurd. Recently they trained 13 Para to do marine recon kind of ops. In Marine Recon or Force Recon it's not neccesary to be a diver but very important to be a swimmer. MARCOS already is a small unit and to the ones I have spoken to as to why we are so confused on who needs to get the job done, they say we are a nation of misplaced priorities.

this unit has been pretty good to stay under the radar. what exactly is 13 para sf and what especially was the need to raise them? doesn't we already have so many SF battalions?

I think it's good to have an sf unit that is trained and capable to be deployed from ships .

isn't that basically 'marcos'? why not just increase them? if army will pesker in every domain like this then how does they expect to achieve proper tri services SF integration under theaterization?

I have zero clue why they were raised but as far as I know they do exercises in Andaman & Nicobar.

We are a nation of misplaced priorities samajho is bat ko

No. MARCOS should not be increased. @Binayak95 please describe more about this cause you have a better background to discuss this.

Time and again it has been said that MARCOS are a force used for special operations, you cannot degrade their capabilities like that. MARCOS is an SF unit, they are similar to SEALs, DEVGRU, MARSOC, etc
not to 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit

That's the point their will be no proper integration between the armed forces. There never was there never will be . The more I read about the intricacies of our past wars the more this becomes clear .

Marcos will word under the command of navy , so if army that would be in charge of defenses decided to do some stuff in Andaman or lakshwadeep it would be time consuming and problematic to get bavy in the loop then bring the marcos team and to plan and execute .
While if they have an army variant of marcos they can be tasked from army high command itself .
