Alas, the education ministry may find sustenance difficult but its fine by me. Thanks to education ministry, we get people like @Screambowl who think air cover for a convoy is his trademark idea and something other countries haven't been doing for literal decades.

Soviets in Afghanistan used to lead convoys with a Hind scanning for targets and flying past the area a couple minutes before the convoy passed. What did the Muj do?
Pretend to drink tea and act unconcerned like regular civvies, even directly pointing at the helicopter (like an innocent civvie in Afghanistan would do, acting all innocent) while hiding their Lee enfields/AKs under overhead cover (roof of a house, a chaarpaayi, a miz, a whatever you call the space below those mud stairs) and they actually trained on drills to get into position quickly after the hind leaves to target the convoy.

A MI24 is a FAR more capable platform than what we can realistically muster up for every convoy moving around in Kashmir.

The dissonance here is, we are talking in feasibility. Our guy here is talking in ideals.

@Screambowl baby, I'd put a damn squadron of Tejas over every convoy if it was possible but we're talking of a gormint which doesn't give our soldiers bare bones essentials like a modern IFAK or hearing protection with any level of uniformity.

There's a very healthy way to discuss that and then there's the "" way to discuss that.

Although, to be completely honest, having a hatch on vehicles with those quadcopters with naughty grenades would definitely force the terrorists to at the very least relocate out of their chosen position. If nothing, that will take the effectiveness of the ambush down a notch.

So, basically, in a hit & run ambush specifically for a guerrilla force, there's an SBF (Stationary base of fire: Basically a fixed position which amasses fire on the target. Well hidden behind some hard cover or on an elevated position) and a raiding party (People who finish off the wounded and deal with the remaining forces while grabbing anything they can like rifles, ammo etc etc). Very recognizable tactic when you watch BLA videos because they place their SBFs so far out in the distance while the raiding party is literally rubbing their crotch on the Pakistani convoys.

Usually the SBF is the one which produces the most casualty (especially if there's an MG there) while the raiding party is just a clean up crew.
You break the SBF, you break the ambush.
The little quadcopters could do that.
Hell, my 5 year old nephew could probably do it with the quadcopter. Boy's a better toy drone pilot than the Ukrainians.

Your point about exiting the vehicle without knowing the position of the unibrowed boy lovers is understandable but there are a couple of caveats there.
A guy getting close enough to chuck a molly or a thermal nade will get spotted. The average guy can not throw a grenade beyond 25 meters (unless Neeraj Chopra defects to the pakis) and if they're smuggling thermobaric rockets across the border, we have bigger problems than just anti-ambush tactics, I guess.

I'm just spitballing here. Reality usually bends over plans and refuses to ask for consent.


Still, I'm a firm believer in the glory of those rotary shits. They can be a very effective weapon if you can add some bulletproof vehicles in the mix.

I think this should give everyone a clarity almost 6 troops in each truck in the first truck all 6 got injured/KIA the reports also says the injured troops in first truck tried to retaliate and kept the pigs away from the street until the reinforcements arrived the second truck didn’t have casualties possible injuries were there under an ambush situation your main objective is to SUPPRESS the threat you are in a non armoured vehicle you are getting shot from everywhere you can’t wait aim and shoot you HAVE to shoot it is the most basic counter for an ambush.Also the first truck was in the KILL ZONE if you are in the kill zone of an ambush consider yourself DEAD there is nothing you can do except fire back till your last breath people here thinking 5k rounds were fired from a well covered position and how they didn’t hit a single terrorist should try to put themselves in this situation.

Infact 5000 rounds aren't much if we look at the men and situation
Desparate firing as troops had no idea of well positioned terrorists so best way is to spray bullets randomly where u think terrorists are firing
Not necessary it should hit terrorists as they are well positioned taking opponent firing into account they even would have planned their escape route just like in past

The Gun truck concept originated in Vietnam and was used effectively in Iraq. Definitely could be a stop gap measure for us.

Professionals in special forces don't want these drones as they are technologically ineffective, already mentioned by professional members and ex veterans here. Also detecting enemy location is not important as per them. So no point.

Their solution: get armory , sit inside call for backup, wait until backup comes, and keep engaging from a small hole, try to flee from the situation which is obvious.
